This thread is getting too long :) I quit smoking on June 27, 2006 at 11:00pm. It has been 1 day, 20 hours, 3 minutes, and 44 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit smoking, I would have: * Smoked 37 cigarettes (That's like smoking a 12 foot long cigarette) * Spent $7.86 on cigarettes * Inhaled 367 mg of tar * Inhaled 29 mg of nicotine (That's like doing 551 hits of nicotine) * Inhaled 403 mg of carbon monoxide * Taken an additional 5 hours, 25 minutes, and 58 seconds off my life

Hi Jacko - Congrats on your first day - I can't believe that you went to a pub and were so, so strong! You're amazing! Just be sure and have all your tools ready. I don't know about how Zyban affects the roof of your mouth but I have to say that strawberries did that to me. I am on Wellbutrin - and was going to go off of them but my doc said keep on keepin' on. It helps and it is not hurting me. So I have continued. They are pretty pricey so I might not stay on them much longer - but they are working for me now. You're doing such a great job! The journey can sometimes be a bumpy, emotional one as you begin to learn about yourself - your real self so be prepared, post often, read more posts...have you made a journal? This is where you copy posts that have a helpful tone or a meaningful one that can help you in your stressful times. Mine is getting bigger and bigger! Anyway, I'm running on and on...it's 5 a.m. here in Georgia and I couldn't sleep! But I wanted to say Welcome and I'm so glad that you have moved your meter up. I know that you will do a great job! Jacko great attitude Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Jacko, By the time you are ready to come off the Zyban, you will be comfortably quit. Zyban doesn't have any nicotine so that will be long gone from your system, and you will have learned how to fill up your time. Mostly, it just helps to keep you on an even keel so that you don't hit such hight-low peaks. Really made the quit alot easier for me.
