Checking in with my Junebugs, feeling strange these last few days. I had such an easy time quitting, and out of nowhere around day 50, I feel like I really want to smoke. No craves, just wants. Late the other nite I was coming home from a concert alone, and stopped at the store for some milk. And it hit me. I'm alone, its late, I could buy a pack and no one would know. It really freaked me out. I bought only the milk, and felt better the next day. And then the rest of the weekend was exactly the same. I just plain wanted one. I stopped at Dad's today to use the pool and there were empty butts in the ashtray outside. I actually found myself looking longingly to see if any were long enough for a puff. It wasn't a crave at all, I just wanted it. On the up side, my hubby said to someone last nite that he didn't know whether to buy a pack of cigs or nicorette gum. I guess he's really thinking about quitting. I am absolutely not pressuring him, but it could definitely get easier around here. Oh, I forgot. My dad just picked up a prescription for a new drug thats out to quit smoking, I have no idea what it is. I don't want to pressure him, but I want him to be prepared to quit, he's failed so many times before. He wants a magic pill, but won't work to figure out his triggers, etc. Do you think I should buy him the Allen Carr book? I haven't read it, but so many people here think its the best. Let me know what you think. Danielle, thanks for the advice, they are all great points and things I have been forgetting. And I have not replaced smoking w/another activity yet, I really need to. Thanks! Hi Junebugs! I haven't been posting much, but I'm still here, on working on my 50th day. Feel pretty good, came off the Wellbutrin. Not really noticing much difference in craves, was worried about that. Congratulations Mama, busy is a good thing! I'm so proud of all my quit friends! Hugs!
