mummy - I got through hell week and am almost done heck week. Sometimes I'm elated...but right now I am soooooo tired from this battle. I don't plan on smoking. It sounds like you feel alot like we newbies feel during hell week or heck week...and sometimes I've had to hold onto my quit the the skin of my teeth. You don't want to go through this again...I promise! You are going through a major test right now...but just remember how you survived those first few weeks - drink lots of water, post often, get enough sleep, take care of yourself and TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME. We're thinking of you! Last year I gave in to the "junkie" in my head after successfully being smoke free for 4 1/2 months. It was a big mistake. It took me OVER a year to get my quit back. And I never want to lose it again. I found that YES, there were some rough times during that quit, like any quit really, but they were much EASIER and much more manageable when compared to the way I felt after I started smoking again. I think Sparky has a post out there where she says, "STAYING QUIT IS A PEICE OF CAKE, COMPARED TO THIS". (Meaning when she had started to smoke again.) She is coming back, though. So to you, Mummy22, and to Sparky, I'm thinking of you both and wishing you the very best. WOW! You're doing great! I'd love to have as many days "Quit" as you have. Don't give in, the hardest part is behind you. I once quit for 5 months and I've regretted going back SO much! Now, I have to start all over again and I dread it! Mummy, NO NO NO, you have come way to far. Tell the junkie to take a long jump off short bridge. Take some time for yourself. Remember how hard it was to quit in the first place. You can do this. Think of how proud you will be when you overcome these thoughts. Reward yourself too. Hate to say this but think of how ashamed you will be if you give in. You will let a little stick of paper and tobacca beat you. Your are stronger than it is. Grace

Jo, Wow, nearly 4 months! That's an amazing quit number and it would be a real bummer to lose it all for the sake of "nic" and his lies. I know exactly how you feel when the junkie tells you things that are so convincing and as long as it is able to hold your attention in its desperate attempts to keep you hooked, it will. The junkie doesn't care how much time and effort you've put into this quit. The junkie is a sneaky little coward and boasts that he can take over anyone's life. He likes the challenge. All he does is stay hidden within you and when he wants his fix, he starts telling you whatever he has to just to get it. He's found his home inside your body and he's kicking and screaming because you have evicted him. This is his last attempts to try to convince you to let him stay. Give him the boot once and for all! Kick his butt out and change the lock on the door so he won't be able to EVER get back in. Can't you just see him now...smiling with that smug look because he knows he has you right where he wants you to be?? Grrrrr. Get mad! "Nic" must die! He certainly knows how to make you think the opposite in what you know is the right thing huh. He may be clever but he's worthless. Hang in there! Your freedom could be right around the corner. It's so close! Mummy22, reeavulate the reasons for your quit, think of how you felt while smoking, the stink, the coughing, you want to live a healthy and free life, don't be a slave to such a nasty addiction, you will move into a smoke-free environment and you will feel so good. Don't smoke is the only other advise I can give you,you can do it you've been quit for almost 4 months don't throw it all away, you won't feel better, you'll feel worse much much worse. Use your coping mechanisms to get rid of this stress. :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 101 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,523 Amount Saved: $404 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 9 Mins: 16 Seconds: 55

Mummy22, you don't want to smoke, you haven't done it for 115 days, you'll be dizzy, it'll taste awful. You are romantacising the habit I think, right now, it's a discusting habit and it's not socially acceptable anymore, so why go back to it, can you analyse what's happening at this moment, what's going on that makes you feel this way? Come on yell, cry, beat your pillow, and if this doesn't work go for a long walk, or to the gym, or to a non-smoker friend's house and talk about it, What did you do at the beginning of your quit when this happened? Use those coping mechanisms. Don't smoke it's bad for you, you'll stink and you'll hate yourself!!!!! Its talking to me. The junkie is making contact and is sounding very convincing. I am moving house 3 hrs away in less than a week and I am so stressed out. It was exactly 2 years ago that I caved 2 months into my quit due to a relocation aswell. The junkie keeps saying that it is ok and that I could smoke for a few weeks untill things settle down and I would start again. Jo keeps saying that nearly 4 months is too much to lose. That it wont be easy to start all over again. Flash back to those early days. Junkie says "its all good. She'll be right". Make that nasty nicodemon go away. He is not my friend anymore and I dont want to talk to him. Please give me the strength to get through this. I am really scared I am going to smoke. I am becoming very convinced. HELP.
