Phreak,
I'm going to be honest with you... I still get those thoughts every once in a while, but they are very rare now. I also know that even when I have one of those thoughts, I won't smoke. I might THINK that I would, but I know for a fact that I won't because I have had cigarettes in my possession in some of the most trying times in my life in the last few months, but did not smoke them. I did that to prove to myself that I am stronger than the addiction. I bought the cigarettes so that I could destroy them... so that I would be the one in control... not the cigarette. So, I know that I won't... even if my mind thinks that I will or that I want to. Take comfort in the fact that you won't... don't worry about the fact that you could becaue we all could smoke at any time.
As we go on in our quits, we get more and more comfortable with the fact that we won't smoke. Sure, any of us could pick one up at any time and smoke it... but that's the difference between the lifelong quitters and the ones who relapse back into their addictions. Lifelong quitters CAN, but they DON'T. I think you're a lifelong quitter. What do you think?
Crave the Quit!
Pam
