Been quit for seven months. Very busy as I am adding two volunteer positions into my schedule. Thanks to the SSC I really got to see about making a difference. I got to experience that one voice added to other voices can really help. So I am volunteering at two new organizations. I get my results back, this week, from the testing that I went through last week. We'll see. I know I won't be able to live with a puffer or inhaler and I hope that by doing breathing exercise I will be able to get through this and continue healing. I am also organizing where and when I will swim in masters competions next year. Something I never ever thought I would contemplate. I am registering in at least two and knowing that I will get to travel to Paris in the spring and to the San Francisco in the fall is very exciting. Booked a reward and vacation to spend my 50th birthday with my mom. I am really happy for that and I am curious to see if she will notice the difference in me. I certainly notice a huge difference and I hope she will to. I was really hurt last Christmas because she could smell smoke on me. I know this sounds very silly and my mom is in a dementia ward of a chronic care facility it is my huge pleasure to go and take her out on little jaunts or to play cards with her or simply wander the halls and last Christmas she said that I smelled all smokey and that "that was not nice". I was mortified and what she said became one of my core reasons for quitting. What a life and what a wonderful ability we all have to heal. Thank you all for being here. Thanks to all my models and mentors and those who have reached in and pulled me through, your support, care and friendship have been invaluable and hugely helpful in supporting me to find a new healthier smoke free life. :) Ciao for now Phillip My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 212 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,252 Amount Saved: $1590 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 15 Mins: 31 Seconds: 37
