Easy or Hard?

In the past it was hasrh. The work up to this quit was insane. I was scared of the withdrawls. Fisrt few days were difficult. However I had been knocked down by this sevaral times. I ABSOLUTLY REFUSE TO LET IT WIN. So far this week has been ok. I still get this really bad crave right before dinner time.(Before hubby gets home.) I know its coming so I get prepared. However if I am out of comfort zone at that time, it hits me like a ton of bricks. It comes out in form of anger. However I am working on that. I want to do this. I am positive and very ready. I have a God in heaven, and it is not 4in stick. I refuse to let nic controll me anymore. My quit was hard... very hard! It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life! And you know what? I'm glad that it was hard! I don't want to EVER give myself the excuse that "oh well, that was easy... I can quit anytime!" And then go back to smoking. Quitting smoking was the hardest thing in my life and I don't EVER want to repeat that process! Now, quitting is easy... it's not something I think about all the time. It's just an involuntary, subconcious action like breathing or digesting food. I don't think about it... I just do it. The quit gets so much better folks! For a long time, I thought that the quit would never get easier for me. I thought that I was different... that because I'd had such a difficult struggle, that I would always struggle. It's not true! It does get easier! No matter how hard the quit is for you, it DOES get easy eventually! Even for those of us who have slipped several times or struggled emmensely with our quits! So if you're struggling? Hang on! It gets soooooo much better! Crave the Quit! Not terrible difficult. I would call in pretty tempting though. Preparation, cutting way back some two weeks before quit day, use of the patch, fortitude, attitude, self talk and other trigger fighters made it possible. I did not have the support of this site when I quit as I did not know of its existence. All in all, place the proper trigger fighting tools in your tool box, and you will have it your way. The way you perceive your quit is the way you are going to feel about it. Just stay positive, use distraction and the job gets done. Then you can move on to your next divide and conquer situation. Well - Life is how you choose to see it. My family has been incredibly supportive and understanding of the mood swings and the out right nastiness that i've been putting out there, and because they understand - that turns it right around into a possitive for me. It's reason to laugh. I'm still moody, and I think that's the worste part of it all... I don't like that nastiness in myself and am fighting it with all i have now before it becomes a habbit. I don't know. I'm a "Life is about the experiences" kind of a gal, and this is just one more thing to experience. If you think it's hard, it will be hard. If you think it's intriguing and exciting (like I do mostly) then it will be. The only hard part about it was the withdrawls of nicotine and the 4000+ other chemicals and addatives that the tobacco industry put in the sickarette. They were in the first 2-4 days. Im finding it really easy. I truly beleive myself that it is what you make of it... if you think it will be hard it WILL be hard. If you feel like every day is a struggle it WILl be a struggle. I beleive in the power of positive thought and i choose to make this an easy quit. Bottom line..... This quit has been easy. This time it was easier for me but I also started preparing for it back in November. Plus this site has been a HUGE difference in my quit. I won't say it's completely a breeze because it wasn't but it was easier then anytime before. I also did the patch and I personally think going down a little at a time on the nicotine helped me, I am now off of it and still not smoking. My quit was EASY !!! I just did it. I have changed my life. Every situation that had anything to do with smoking I have changed. Never had cravings or anything. I have to admit that I am a positive person and I think you can make it as easy as you want to. But that's my opinion. Ok here goes, I've quit twice before cold turkey for long periods and started again, I have been preparing for this quit for a while now cutting down, not smoking in the house car, you see here it's a smoking ban, can't smoke anywhere and nobody smokes in my family. Still I had a huge dependancy to nicotine (did the written test) so I took out the big guns, I'm using patches and I must say the worse part is going down, for me it's the depression for a few days and I mean crying all day.....nevertheless it was really hard at first now it's getting better and I think it's because I want it so much, but I haven't reached easy yet. I'm working on it and am confident and that's what counts believing in yourself. Taking that first step into the unknown was difficult. I was scared. As an addict I believed my junkie thinking and all of society's brainwashing about smoking and about quitting. I believed that quitting was going to be such a hard thing to accomplish. And I used that excuse to not quit for many years. That is what society told me: 'Quitting is difficult' ... and that excuse served my 'junkie thinking' so well. NOT! I believe that what we believe we make come true. So the 'quitting is so difficult' thoughts had to be eradicated from my mind for me to succeed and succeed while also being happy. I find that being happy makes any task at hand so much easier to accomplish. So I got busy doing whatever I could to get that junkie thinking out of my mind and to make the conscious choice to be a happy non-smoker. It has been work, but it has been for the most part enjoyable work. I wish I had believed it was going to be easy from the start; I think I would have tried to quit a lot earlier in life if I had not believed that it was going to so difficult to quit. But regardless ... I'm happy that I am quit today. I never thought it could be this easy until I believed that it could be this easy. It was difficult at first (hell week) but I did it! AFter that it was easy with "some" hard days. Lately its been difficult because I used to grab for a smoke every time things got rough. Some of you know my husband left me last week and I used to frequent here often but the depression had set in. I did prevail though and DID NOT pick up a smoke. I have 72 days under my belt and let me tell you, even nicodemon couldn't take those 72 days away from me and I want more more more days under my belt. I just remind myself that there will be roller coasters and smokes are not the answer because its an object that cannot help me through the rough spots, it was only a crutch that was hurting me more. So its kind of difficult to answer that question, was it easy or hard. Mine went both ways (if that's even possible).
