CHERYL-ONE BIG FAT YEAR OF FREEDOM 7.4.06

Way to go Cheryl!!!!! As my fellow Smober, we laughed, cried and joked our way through those early days. You were always there! I will always remember you for... 1. Being the best darn Smober DJ we've ever had! Nobody can do the music quite like you can! 2. The idea of bracelet that is on my wrist that hasn't left my arm in over 10 months. Thank you so much for the idea!!! Congratulations on 1 fabulous year!!! Crave the Quit! Look at all the great and wonderful people who took time out of their own holiday to make mine a little more special. The fireworks have just finnished here, and it looks like God is going to throw out some of his own, there have been sparks and flashes and lights to the south for the last hour, and moving closer. It's been a perfect 4th of July. Our country is still free. Our people are still the most giving in the world. And they are also the bravest. May we always be free, and safe. May we be happy and always have friends like we have found her. Both the staff and other quitters. Thanks to all of you. Cheryl: The ladies have paid you a great tribute and well deserved at that. The time difference between Idaho and the East Coast has prevented a lot of direct communications so we haven't chatted as much as I would have liked. Hope you guys got the boat finished and that you are in great spirits and health. One year without a cigarette. That really says it all. I hope the new quitters can begin to see that anything is really possible when you set out to quit here at the SSC. I want to congratulate you for your amazing achievement and your will to win this war on addiction. Cheryls words: The beginning: I'm not very good at computer stuff. I'm not even sure if this is how you communicate with each other. But I'm going to try it. As you can probably see, I haven't reached my quit date yet. I have set one, and as it draws nearer, I am getting nervous! Anybody have any ideas? I don't want to chicken out of this. Day 361: When I quit on July 4, 2005, I spent the day with my family doing picnic and fireworks and all those things. And noone even noticed that I didn't smoke. I wanted them to notice on their own. I got through those early days one minute at a time. With cinnamon sticks, and water, and breathing, and a yoyo. And the excitement of maybe getting it this time helped to carry me. I met people here. Ones that would talk to me whenever I showed up. I finally had a support group that could support when I needed it. I work strange hours and days and that was always my excuse for not reaching out. That noone could be available the hours that I needed them. But I was wrong. The people here are just that. They are here. Whenever you stop by. Over the last year, some of these people have become my friends. I have more friends here than in my real life. But I am starting to make friends on the outside. ANd do things that I always hid from. I just want to thank all of you. May your journey continue through your life, may you always find a friend when you need one, may your faith set your spirit free at last. Call if you need me, I hope that I am here when you do. ANd I promise to always take the time to listen, even if I can't fix it. With tears of Joy and a heart full of gladness. . . No Joking, I'm Still Not Smoking! Well, Cheryl, you sure got it this time! Please join me folks to help Cheryl celebrate a VERY special 4th of July. CONGRATULATIONS FOR ONE BIG FAT YEAR OF FREEDOM !!!!! Not cravin', never cavin'.
