I'm with you on the targets....seems too much to say I'll never smoke, even though that's the way I want it, so I sort of break up the "never" into manageable segments and when I complete one, I renegotiate another. Sometimes it is hard to believe that it has been 5 months, and now is one month closer to my next target which is in October. I made my first target (smokefree until after trip to San Francisco), now I have to make my next target (smokefree until after trip to Europe). At that time it will have been 9 month. I seem to do better if I make targets for myself that I can meet. It does not seem like so daunting a challenge, and helps when I get those urges which sneak up on me now and then. Checking in on this web site has really helped when I have been feeling down and the urges were strong. Thanks every one for you help and support. Congrats to you! I completely umderstand, I need milestones also. I am looking forward to my 5 months soon. Gees, I can't believe it. I can't believe that I still have to work at it, but I am still learning how do things without cigarettes everyday. I'm in Vegas now, a big vacation milestone.
