Any ideas for this problem?

Hi Dutch Fini, Here in ontario we have smoke free workplaces and getting caught means a huge fine. Do you have bylaw officers that enforce the policies? Perhaps you could call in an anonymous tip? Its not fair to you to have to deal with this. Even as a smoker I had more common courtesy than this. Perhaps they could go behind the building away from the gas pumps to smoke? This is a really tricky one. You dont want to upset your colleagues but equally they are upsetting you. I think under the law you have probably got some rights but that is a bit extreme. Will your employer provide an extractor fan it will help a lot! I really think you have to ask(not tell ) them very nicely explaining that you have quit for nearly 200 days and that they are really not helping you and your lifestyle. As they are smokers I would not expect too much sympathy unless they are really friends.... Hello friends, Last night I had a smokingdream. I didn't smoke myself though. I know where this dream comes from. Where I work it's not allowed to smoke inside. But outside smoking is very dangerous because I work at a gasstation. So what do the people I work with do??? They smoke in a small office we have right behind the counter. That irritates me a tiny bit because IT STINKS !!! It means that I have to stand in smoke air all the time I'm at work. I don't want to say anything about it because I was a smoker myself but I just hate it to smell like smoke when I step into my car. Any sugestions how to solve this problem? Thanks and hugs Fini :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 195 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,876 Amount Saved: 575.25 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 19 Mins: 58 Seconds: 6

Thanks for the replies, Phil, I am the only non-smoker there and they all were kinda mad because I quitted smoking. Nobody wanted to hear a thing about about it. The smokers I know never gave me any support what so ever. So this problem cannot be solved unless I ask them to smoke outside. The company I work for has a non-smoking policy so they will not give anything to help the smokers. In fact if they catch someone smoking they will be fired the same minute. Oh well, maybe I get lucky some day and they will quit smoking too ;) Love Fini xx My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 195 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,882 Amount Saved: 575.25 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 20 Mins: 45 Seconds: 47

Hi all, The policy is non smoking so no one is allowed to smoke. I have the right to a smokefree workingplace. But the smokers refuse to go outside and when some friends of them come over to visit them there are 2 people smoking in a very small office. If costumers come in they smell the stank near the entrance allready. I have said a few times when I came in: Pfff the stank is awful here but then no one answers. Oh well, I will get a spray next monday and when they smoke I'll spray so that they see I do that. Maybe they see the light then ....lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 196 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,914 Amount Saved: 578.2 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 0 Mins: 54 Seconds: 1

Dutch, maybe they'll get caught Oh oh I didn't mean that. LOL This is a hard one, how about spraying deodoriser everytime they smoke. psh psh each cigarette that is lit they might get the message LOL. I admire your courage, I hope this works itself out for you. Dutch Fini, You've gotten some great advice. Perhaps an air purifier near the door of the smoke room? Keep us posted. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
