Feeling ... Shakey

18 years ago 0 2614 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Today, Just plain tired. Doing lots that in my former life I would have done with a side of tobacco and that just can not be. So hold the side of tobacco, lay off the fire and just give it to me sushi style. No smoking although I am looking at it very romantically. Letting myself think that it will make everything better and really all it will do is make everything worse and have me feel really bad about myself . Sooooooooooo, I will not take the wimps way out I will fight this tooth and nail and I will get through to the other side. Freedom! Just wish it took less time. Oh well Cheers Phillip  My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 82 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,657 Amount Saved: $615 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 12 Mins: 2 Seconds: 5

Thanks Lady There is really no way I am turning back. I said hold the tobacco. And there really is a part if me that says it would just be better/easier if I smoked. Now I know that is just plain stupid thinking (that nasty addict, and that addict is not going to get his way) and I know, (more that you all might think I know) how smoking kills and how cancer, emphysema, tb, chronic bronchitis and all the other nasty and degenerative diseases that are brought full force by smoking, actually drain the life from people, killing them. So I just white knuckle this through and hope for the time to pass quickly and I will get through to the other side. Thanks for the help.!!!!!!! Hang on to the better Rob. You have come a long way and worked really hard to get here. Some times people get tired of the fight. Don't get tired. Keep a possitive attitude. It really is important. You are almost to the beach. You should start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel real soon. Let us know if you need anything. Oh no you don't Phillip. Romantically thinking of death??? Smoking kills and you have come way to far to give up now, my friend. You are a strong willed, possitive thinking individual with a lot going for you. You have fought hard for this quit and it isn't time to give up now. Sorry, but you have just come too far to turn back now. Yes, sometimes things suck when you can't smoke but guess what? Life sucked sometimes even when we did smoke. Smoking will not make anything better. You know that. It always seems those last steps to freedom are the hardest. Look at the light at the end of the tunnel. Take my hand and I'll walk this portion of the road with you. No stumbling, no falling, no quitting the quit now. :) How about writting down one of those insightful observations that you are so good at????? Chin up... here we go... still taking it one step at a time. Phillip and Rob... Welcome to the wonderful world of quit. Yes it sucks. It still hits you from time to time but it's nothing like it was in the beginning. You are both getting to a point in your quits where a lot of quitters give up and go back to smoking. Don't let the junkie thinking and the physical symptons get the best of you. You are going through the healing process. Unfortunately, the only way to the other side it to get through it. Just don't smoke. Use the coping tools you used in the beginning. They still work. Take some deep breathes and drink some water. This will pass and it does get better. It just takes a while. This is quite a journey that we are on. A soul-searching life changing journey that is worth every single step. Hang in there guys. Post if you need us. Hi felt just like you at around 80 days. It's one of those quitting cycle things. Just one thing to say. Your depressed feeling will be a lot worse if you smoke....take it from me...I know.... I would much rather be where you are right now, suffering from the 80 day depression, than the depression of having stopped and started about 4 times in the last 2 months. NOPE guys.

Great post. It was like listening to you talk yourself through it. :) I've seen MANY people struggle a bit between 80 and 120 days. One member said we should have a section called the 100 day blahs. It will certainly get better and easier, but it's great to see that you are already on the right track. Just for today, we don't smoke. Not cravin', never cavin'.
