99 days Down, A Lifetime Ahead!

Hi Everybody! I haven't been here as much lately, but I thought I'd put down a few rambles on what I have learned so far. I notice there are lots of new members on board, which is just great. To all of you just starting on your quits know that there is much to be learned on this crazy rollercoaster ride. There is so much more to this than just not putting a ciggie in your mouth. You will learn that not everyone will be happy for you. Some of your old smoking buddies will feel that by going to "the other side", you are betraying them. This is probably just jealousy talking and don't allow this non-support to deter you. I have discovered that I DESERVE to be a non-smoker. Smoking does not define who I am. When I was younger, I never thought of how my lifestyle would affect my life. We don't think of these things while we're partying and having fun. But now as a 42 year old, I MUST take care of my health. Bad things CAN happen to me and not just to someone else. I have also found new self respect and pride in myself. I LOVE this person I have become. I believe in myself and my strengths. I want to thank all of the wonderful members who have helped me get this far. You all will know who you are. I really don't think I would have come this far without all of you and this site. I have heard whispering amongst my family, I think they have a surprise planned for me tomorrow. My hubbys' and kids support and pride in me has been a daily reward. Hang in there everybody, it's tough at times, but sooo worth it. I'm sure it is, you seem like a smart cookie to me. Struggling ...the beach is the virtual Beach that all the Quitters go to on their 100th day of their quit ! Just like Red Rosie one of these days you will also be celebrating your 100th day milestone... it's been a while since I have been to the "Beach" you can probably find the string if you do a search of the Century Club or 100 . Good Luck. Big Congrads to you RR for hitting the beach hope you enjoyed it ! :) X-Smokey the Bear My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/11/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 395 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,749 Amount Saved: $1382.5 Life Gained: Days: 58 Hrs: 18 Mins: 44 Seconds: 13
