hey commit........congrats on your big day tomorrow. Think positive thoughts.......I understand from your post that "cold turkey" isn't your method of choice to quit, but many people here did it and have survived. Make sure you are prepared. The junkie thoughts will be coming at you - maybe not on Day 1, but they will come. Read as much as you can about this addiction on this site and others - and of course, read the posts here from new folks like yourself who are starting the journey. YOU CAN DO THIS. And there are many fine people here who can help you. Hang tough. The decision to quit is probably the hardest one to make in life. You are coming to terms with being an addict. And that ain't easy! Stay close to this site, if you can tomorrow..........we'll be here for you......... Oh what an adventure you have ahead of you! Hang on for dear life - this is quite a ride. Despite your fear and ambivalence (we all had that) and the misery of the first days of withdrawal (I thought I was losin ma mind!), this is doable. Once you have tasted freedom, you will wonder what took you so dang long. Try to embrace each day, each crave, each yucky withdrawal sysmptom as a sign that your body is healing from the addiction. Stay very close here and whine as much as you like. This place, these wonderful people made all the difference for me. Best wishes. I will think of you all day today. - Carole My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/15/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 347 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,688 Amount Saved: $1214.5 Life Gained: Days: 48 Hrs: 8 Mins: 23 Seconds: 29
