1st Try......Can it be?

17 years ago 0 1128 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
What an awesome Post Itsironic, I have found my quit really easy. I quit in the very early 90's just after i started smoking cant remember why i started again, then quit 2 years ago, lasted a couple of months got drunk one night, thought i could handle just one.... back to a pack a day within 2 weeks. I beleive you CAN quit the first time round. In my opinion, if you want it bad enough (the quit) it doesnt matter if you quit 100 times before or its your first attempt - you WILL do it. Bottom line is i wanted to be a non smoker more than i wanted to smoke. Fantastic post :) PrincessC :) x

Wow dejevue..... 1st try.......Can it be?? YESSSS it can. Hard to believe I questioned that back in May. There is 0 doubt that I smoke for 30+ years, Quit on my first try and it has been a wonderful journey. It has not been a huge struggle. Like I said in Healers post The only regret I have is that I didn't do this 10 or 20 or 30 years ago. VERY COOL! YES NEW QUITTERs! 1st trys ROCK! Thanks for the bumptybump! It was cool to see this...and how confident I am now. Hi ItsIronic I am really glad to see you threw that 'stinking thinking' out the window. Us first timers have to stick together and build each other up ... we have to really believe that we can do it! Good going ... keep it up! You ask if there are any successful 1st timers out there?? Of course there are ... and you are one of them! Stop the 'stinking thinking' & think positive. You are doing great! Hi ItsIronic, Congrats on the stats! I'm a first timer myself and have smoked for a similar length of time. I've thought about this and come to the conclusion that if you've tried before, you may have learnt from past mistakes and be able to prepare better. However, there's also the physcological factor: having failed, will may fail again. However, the most important factor of all - DO YOU WANT TO QUIT MORE THAN YOU WANT TO SMOKE? In our case, I think the answer is yes! Take care, stay quit Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 96 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,891 Amount Saved: 720 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 1 Mins: 42 Seconds: 14
