charlie, Stay strong, remember to make good use of your coping skills. Take time out for only you and enjoy one day were you can 'pamper' yourself. Take Care, Melanie _________________ The SSC Support Team

Hey Charlie Girl, I also love the outside especially sitting in a lawn chair reading, cross word puzzles, knitting, talking with friends on the phone. Do you do any of theses? When I have friends over that is where we go. Find something you like to do and it will pass the time away. I even find myself taking a nap sometimes. I also have a dog and he loves to fetch things that I throw. That makes him happy and me too. Will be in touch!!! Hang on tight to your quit...... Sunshine

Hey Charlie Girl, Oh wow look at those 69 days, and 417 cig' s not smoked. I'm just ahead of you a few days, and I had a hard time around this time. Protect your quit with all you have. I think you have two problems, the problem with the hubby is causing the nicodemon to work extra hard. And they both probably know how to push your buttons. Stay strong and keep doing whatever you have done in the past not to smoke...... Hello Charlie Girl! It's good that you know your limits. SOme people like talking about it, some would rather forget it. How far into your quit are you? You need to first regain focus on your quit. Remeber why you did it, make a list if you need to. Also in my opinion you can say how bad you want to go to the store and buy them every single day, but the fact that you havent yet shows that you are determined to stay quit, DO NOT LET ANYONE OR ANYTHING TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU!!!! Stay strong in that. About your man, well what can I say, they really are from mars!! Your husband may forget how hard it was to quit smoking therefore isnt being supportive or understanding. Maybe try to remind him of that. Whatever you have to do to keep from smoking do it. Lock yourself in a room without him! LOL! Just stay stong and keep us posted. Show that quit meter!! Every second on that baby is an accomplishment!!! Charlie Girl You just hang in there. This is nothing more than a test, a test of your will power. You must learn to deal with the stress in others ways, but bottom line, NO SMOKING. You can make it and you will make it. I know it must be hard while you're in to it with hubby, but don't let his words discourage you. Think about waking up tomorrow with another day on the meter and a new day for you and hubby to try again. If need be go back and review the coping mechanisms that you used in the begnning of your quit. Stay strong.....you can get through this Sheila ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,289 Amount Saved: $210 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 10 Mins: 58 Seconds: 41

Charlie Girl, sorry to see you having a tough time but you have got so far, don't let someone else (whoever they are) push you into spoiling something you have worked so hard to achieve. Peppermints are a good idea to carry around, I've never eaten so many in my life before. I also have a stress ball (It's actually a pig would you believe!!) which I find useful when I want something for my hands to do. I've just read all your posts this morning, I can't thank you guys enough. I know deep down this is it, I have to protect my quit. I know I have to just Hang on some Days harder than others. The part that is cjonfusing to me is that I don't think I even want to smoke the cig, I think about that part and it makes me sick to my stomach. But the craving to go buy them and hold one in my hand... I also think it has something to do with control.... I would feel more in control of something. I find that sometimes I don't have complete control over my quit! If I could only find something to replace the smoke..... I know walking, bath, etc. are good but I need something that I can have that I feel as connected to as I was the smokes.......... something to take with me, something to enjoy. Is this normal?
