I just wanted to share my evening last night with everyone.
I went out with my friends, my smoking friends, for drinks. I knew it was going to be a difficult task, but I took my "tools" with me...pack of gum, straw, and a lot of willpower. Early into the evening, my friends were being kind and smoking outside, but as the temperature dropped, they smoked inside. After a glass and a half of wine, my will started to waver, and the smokey air began to entice me, but I held on. Told myself "If you can wait just 10 minutes, you can get through this." And I did! I managed to go the entire evening without a puff.
This was not easy. I wanted one sooooo badly, but I held on. I kept thinking about coming back on here today and there were two options: 1) Reset my meter, or 2)Don't smoke, and I really didn't want to reset my meter. I just wanted to tell everyone this because if I can do it, this early in my quit, you can too. We can keep our quit!
