Hey Neek, I know exactly what your going through. I am going through it too. The only difference is that I did reward my self. Now what.. I can't keep rewarding myself everyday. I will go broke!! I know that this is blah week but what happends next? It's funny, I had a fight with my boyfriend this weekend didn't talk to him for 2 days (I am stubborn but then again so is he) I had to be with Family for my neice's Christening (which I am the godmother) and I still didn't smoke, but when I finally did talk to my BF, he never once asked me if I smoked. He just assumed that I didn't.. He is a non-smoker who has been very supportive and would love for me to keep up the quit but i feel like he is getting tired of me taking about it.. and I am like come on I smoked for 21 years, you can't expect me to be over it in 3 weeks... They just don't get it.. I got gas today. The first time since I quit. First time at a gas station since I gave up the grits a little more than 2 weeks ago (good gas mileage... I know he he). I was so close to walking inside and picking up a pack of cigs. I didn't, but damn, the beginning of week 3 isn't starting out the way I thought it would. Wow... I'm ready to do the dutch right now. Sooo close to smoking. Why is week 3 sooo much harder than the others? Possibilities (thinking out loud here): 1) I feel as though I've already proven something. 16 days is a long time without a cigarette, surely that is a big accomplishment. 2) I've already turned the corner. It's all down hill from here (I know that's a lie). 3) Stressed. I don't feel like myself anymore. (end rant) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 198 Amount Saved: $48 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 10 Seconds: 23

Lady -- EXACTLY!! I've been feeling this for a while. I live with 3 roommates, none of which smoke. For the first few days up to the first week, I was more of a science project than anything else. They would ask for the daily update wondering what kind of brown gross stuff I had hacked up today, or how light headed I was. They would even test to see how cranky I was. I was poked, prodded and probed. I have to admit it was nice to be the center of attention for a few minutes out of everyday. Now all that is gone. I tell them that I have made it two weeks and I get the 'oh that's great'. To me it is. To me it's the greatest F'in thing ever. It's like a girlfriend, you celebrate the first week, the 2 week anniversary, the first month, etc etc. Until it just turns into a yearly thing. Although my quit, doesn't really get all excited with me when I get happy about 2 weeks. My real girlfriend does, and she is great. She re-affirms my quit all the time, but for some reason I've been missing something on the inside. Something that I need to do. Can't quite put my finger on it. Feels like I need something new. Some new form of motivation. Just holding on isn't really enough for me. I need to be pro-active. Especially here at work. Like a new habit. It's funny how un-satisfying chewing gum and drinking coffee can be. Anyone else got some fun stuff they do to make the time go? Two weeks seems like an eternity for me. I've never gotten this far, and I keep going simply because it is uncharted territory. Not bad for a guy that didn't really plan or want to quit. I just dove in head first I guess. I'm 2 weeks done now, and am surprising many people at my progress. Mostly at work. My positive attitude towards quitting is fading fast. They expect me to fail, even those that were gun hoe for me to quit. How do I keep my spirits up? I'am with you Neek-its been 15 days and everyone thinks I have done it-I have quit!! Well I'll tell you I want a cigarette just as bad now as I did the second and third day. I quess it really is not as bad as the beginning because I don't think about it quite as often as I did before. I just keep looking at my Quit Meter and trying to go one more day.
