Six months ago today I became a non-smoker, after 30 years of smoking a pack a day. Since October 19th, I have not smoked 3,648 cigarettes--not even one single puff. I have gotten rid of all the weight I gained during my quit, plus some. I can breathe easier and I don't wake up in the morning trying to hack a lung out. I am rarely out of breath and have over $600 in cash sitting in an envelopethat would have been spent on nasty cigarettes. Both me and my house smell infinitely better than they used to.
A big congratulations to me--and also to my father and Robyn as well, who also put down the cancer sticks at the same time.
It is SO nice to be free of the addiction. I couldn't be happier about my decision to get those vile things out of my life.
If you are just starting your quit, know that it DOES get a lot easier. Six months seemed to have just flown by. I rarely get a craving and when I do, it's barely even a fleeting thing...then POOF it's gone.
Not one puff ever!
