Red- no way you can quit the quit when people like me are watching who are only quit half as long as you. Think of the guilt!!! How's that for pressure? Seriously- you'll be fine. Good going, Red. Oh hell... a little guilt goes a long way. I go to the 14mg patch saturday. I'm sure it will be a bit tougher, but we're in this now and we can't turn back. Hang tough! Bob

Hi Redrosie! I just thought I'd reply to your post, as I have been reading through a lot of yours since I came onto this site! I just came across another post this morning about losing your newfounded excitement about quitting. Although I am still in the beginning, and fully excited, this scared me a little. I too need constant reinforcement from people. I'm not sure if this will help, but I scoured the internet and found some pretty discusting pictures of lungs and what smoking does. When I look at a person smoking, I immediatly picture what their insides look like. And then I pity them. But I don't feel to sorry for them as they know how dangerous smoking is, and they too make a choice, but their choice to smoke. I don't consider myself a non-smoker. As non-smokers really never think about a smoke, or about not having one. I think of myself as an ex-smoker. I have and still am fighting a battle that is the hardest in my life, but I am winning. I have found that I have such awesome strength that I never would have found...... I think ex-smokers are above non-smokers, as we have had to fight our a**es off to achieve a goal that non-smokers never will. Please stay strong. You are one of my HEROS. You have given me thoughts, praises, questions, but most of all, inspiration. Maybe you can get away for the weekend with your kids, as you said they give you strength. Maybe they can can give you the push you need to get back in the ball game. You can do it. I have faith in you. ****4my2girls**** My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 231 Amount Saved: $35.97 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 19 Seconds: 37

redrosie Well, I'm fairly new here and I have read so many of your uplifting and compassionate posts, and I just wanted to give you back some of the love you have so freely given to others in their time of need. You are amazing, and your journey has been a powerful one. And you are an example for me that shows me I really CAN do this. And that all I have to do is say N.O.P.E. I am sending blessings and holding my hand out to you like Lady is, so take it, and let's all go on this journey together, through good times rough times, hell times, all times. You can do this! And I can do this! Let's do this together. Love and blessings xox My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 385 Amount Saved: $26.4 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 14 Seconds: 55

Hi Redrosie, I just read thru this whole thread and am feeling a lot better now that you seem to be feeling better!! I was really worried about you there lady!! Like so many others have already told you... you have been such an inspiration to me for the past couple of weeks since I've been coming to this site. You are always there for others and you have such a great way of sharing your insight and compassion. I am so new to this, so I am really looking to all of you who are further down the road than I am to sort of hold the light up ahead so I can find my way. Redrosie, you have been one of my beacons!! I really wanted to tell you that and to say thank you!! I'm so glad to see that your last post was much more upbeat and you seem to be back on track! You go girl!!! I'm putting my hand out there as well for anyone who needs to hold on to it!! We CAN DO THIS TOGETHER!! Hugs to all of you! Hi Redrosie, You give so many people motivation everyday. I know you are human and have bad days too. I guess that's the whole point of this support group, to be here for anyone who needs it b/c we are all fighting the same fight. Sometimes reading about slips makes me want to slip. I guess posting it would help us learn not to make those mistakes instead of wanting to make those mistakes. I'm glad you stayed strong and got passed it. I am proud of you for staying smoke free. Your body and lungs are proud of you as well. I'm doing so well this week as I've gotten into small little fights and not feel like doing anything productive. It's been a few days and hasn't passed and I keep thinking if I smoked will it make things better. I may think I feel better but my problems are still going to be there. I'm adding one more problem by smoking again. I know I will feel horrible for starting again but why do I keep thinking about it? Of course I'm not gonna smoke. If it gets to a point where I can't take it, I'll just have to cry out the frustration. Redrosie, when I began to read this I said this can't be happening. I have read so many of your upbeat messages and you have helped me so much. But right now there a lot of us going through the same thing. I just received a good report from my Dr. and all Hell broke loose that NICODEMON WOULD NOT SHUT UP, ALL I HEARD WAS SEE SMOKING DID NOT HURT YOUR HEALTH SO GO AHEAD AND SMOKE. This went on all day untill I finally said NO, I am an EX-SMOKER. I am not trying to do this, I CAN DO THIS!!. But believe me the nicodemon will not leave as long as we allow him to stick around. This is day 67 and I think it is just as bad or worse than the first. You have such a good quit going and I know that don't mean much when you are craving. I pray that you will awake in the morning with more ENTHUSIASM THAN YOU HAVE EVER HAD.... AND REMEMBER THE TWO MOST POWERFUL WORDS ARE "I CAN". Lot of hugs..
