Hi Kat, I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with you through the CBT Buddies. How was your weekend? Mine was busy. I went and played netball on Saturday. I also went grocery shopping with my husband. I am still not able to go grocery shopping by myself. When I go outside, the first thing I do is make an escape. Certain shops, mainly large grocery stores, I can't go alone. I hope your week is filled with clients and I look forward to speaking with on through the buddy system. Take care and thanks for all your support, Sharon

Sharon once again i want to congratulate you on you accomplishment! you do have a backbone but depression can have such a hold on you that you dont know what to think. i dont know if that makes any sence but for me i feel so bad when im around people that i become so overcome with insucurities. just to let you know i also keep my head down in these sittuations. i hate making eye contact with anyone i always feel like im being judged thats why i am so happy for you that you did that. do you ever feel like its not just your imagination and people realy are staring and judging? thats how i feel and i hate it so much. i just wish i could get back to not even caring what people think but its not easy i hope i can learn how to do that again. im sorry for rambling on and on but sometimes i have a hard time explaining myself. take care Sharon. Kat, When I go on a bus I too think everyone is looking at me and they know I have all these problems, which will lead to then judding me and not liking me. When I go on the bus I keep my head down and try not to look at anyone. I have no self-esteem and I am so self-conscious of myself. One of my goals is to get a backbone and love myself and not care what people think of me. I also want to be able to speak my mind without thinking that I am stupid. I haven't even begun to work on this with my therapist as there always seems to be something else that comes up. Take care - Sharon

Liz, Happy Birthday. I think your boyfriend is right, the move is a new beginning and a fresh start. Let me know when you are settled and we can chat on-line using the CBT. Think positive thoughts, Sharon

I also want to add Sharon that i am so happy that you rode on the bus after 8 months. thats a great accomplishment i know how hard it is. plus being in a crowded mall for 2 whole hours which i know seems like an eternity atleast for me it is. that is so great. its hard Sharon I am so happy for you! :)

im the same way. i hate riding on buses or being in crowded places.i dont know why this makes you uncomforatable. can you explain a little bit more why you dont like to? i know for me its because i feel like everyone stares at me and is judging me. its hard for me to go anywhere feeling like that. i know i shouldnt care what people think of me but its so much easier said than done.

Hi, again. Thanks for the info/input. I am just finishing my first week's worth of activity schedules and have not even started session 2 yet. So, I suppose I'll get to number 7 in about 5 weeks. I'm definately going through some stuff still, ofcourse, but I'm atleast feeling much better than the day i found this site. I'm scared of this move and happy that I'll be back to a place that i can take care of us again all at the same time. I'll be driving a 17 ft, Uhaul truck with my car on a dolly carrier all by myself with only my son on Saturday. Saturday also happens to be my birthday. My boyfriend keeps telling me to think of this birthday as a new beginning. I see his perspective and am thankful that I have the resources to go back to my job, but I'm still very depressed at the fact that I'm going to spend my birthday driving 13 hours. It seems that every birthday has always been some freaky transitional period rather than a reason to celebrate. I don't think I've ever had a really happy birthday.

Liz, I got the experiment form when completing Session 7 of hte CBT program. You use the form when planning an trip outside. Part 1 is to be completed before the experiment. You write down what exactly you plan to do for an activity, and what you predict your behaviours, feelings and thoughts will be, along with rating your main feeling or emotion. Part 2 of the form is to be completed after the experiment. You write down what you actually did and what happened with your behaviours, feelings and thoughts and rate your main feeling or emotion after the experiment. You also write down the results of your experiment, what those results mean and if you will repeat the experiement, if you should make changes and that are those changes. I find it extemely useful. For example, I had planned on going on the bus last week but I chickened out. This week I used the experiment form and I knew I had to do it. It was an incentive for me to go outside. I hope this helps, Sharon

Hi, again Sharon. Glad you're feeling/doing better and good luck to you with returning to work. Again, I'm wondering if you can elaborate about the experiment report you mentioned? Is this something on the site or recommended by a therapist? Is it something specifically geared to your particular situation, or can anybody use it for setting personal goals? Thanks! Liz

Thanks Josee. Each and every day I am able to go outside more and more. Sharon
