Nice to hear from you Red & Davit. I'm having a sombre day today, following a cemetery visit. I found a clamp, which I needed for securing a pigeon anti-perch spike. My back is killing me after all the twisting out the top floor window. I'm getting good at this. Then I found some good mortar, since ants are going enter the house through cracks in the wall, and I need to do some shoring up. I have to do one thing at a time. I wanted to review the use of the soaker hoses, but hope it will rain tomorrow, so I can just take my time. Some of my evening was hijacked when I found I had to make some quick soup out of broccoli, since it seemed unattractive, so I froze half.

Update: Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day. I put my fears aside about my present situation with a little mindfulness and made it to the quilt and hobby show. I picked up a few tools for my quilting craft and I am pleased. So today I am ready to get involved in my present positive distraction project again and am planning my next one in my mind. It seems that I have no room for the negative thoughts at the moment. So I will deal with them as they come and let them go until I can talk to the doctors about my skin cancer and all my options at my appointment later this month.....Till next time....Red:)))

I have sent people here and panic centre is in some of my posts but posts get buried real fast there. I bump the important ones. Eggshells has sent people also. There is CBT on NMP but it isn't CBT, it is exposure therapy.

Davit, I have mentioned The Panic Center that we have here when I do post on the site that you are talking about but have not seen anyone from that site here. The cbt program on THE PANIC CENTER that we have here is a wonderful resource for any one who is looking for help with this disorder as are the sister sites that they offer here...THE PANIC CENTER and THE DEPRESSION CENTER and their programs on cbt and their Educators have helped me more than any thing else that I done on my journey to healing and living a happier and healthier life...Red

Hi Davit, I do read a lot on the site you mentioned and it has been very helpful. With lots of great links. I did notice after you and Terry mentioned it this week that there is a lot of activity on their health anxiety threads. I never realized so many people had health anxieties. I don't really think I have health anxieties though, most of my fears revolve around doctors and hospitals and the health care industry in general. Like this skin cancer that I have I am not afraid of the cancer it can be fixed. What I am afraid of really is the doctors and hospital and the surgery. Lots of ptsd and negative core beliefs for me there. Anyway I am working through it. Thanks for the invite to join in the conversations on the site on therapy. I really haven't had any doctor therapy in over 40 years so I do not have anything current to contribute on that subject but I do have a lot of personal experience with anxiety/panic/ptsd, agoraphobia and depression. So I will try to join in where and when I can.....Red.....

Hello Red

Terry has posted a lot of information on mindfulness. The UK doesn't have a good CBT program so we have put together a lot of information and keep bumping it to keep it current. Our next thread will be on therapy and we will be looking for peoples experiences and comments. You are welcome to join in.

Poor Sara just got home after being badly beaten by her boyfriend and we are trying to support her.

The main topics are health anxiety but you can find us under panic attacks.

This morning I was awoken by nightmares and was in a state of high anxiety so I went looking of help on line. I went to a site titled No More Panic and looked at their forum thread titled panic/panic attacks and found a thread there titled How to I calm myself down. Under this thread someone posted links to free mindfulness audio sessions on mindfulness mediation. So I did a couple sessions and it helped me bring my self back to the present. I am looking to turn my focus with the help of mindfulness to some positive distractions today.

Hi Red,

I am glad to hear that your wound healed but a bit worried to hear about the skin cancer. It sounds like a stressful situation you are handling very well! I am actually quite impressed with your attitude. You are one strong lady!

To my understanding the kind of skin cancer you mentioned can be treated very effectively. So hopefully this can get sorted out quickly and without too much stress.

Keep us updated on how you are doing! I will be trying to send lots of positive healing energies your way

Update... the good news my wound finally healed which is relief so I am back working on my hobbies again. Now the not so good news. The dermatologist found a basil cell squamous carcinoma skin cancer on my face. So I am now involved in looking at all my options for treatment. So I guess I will tied up with for a while. My Dermo doc gave me some medication cream that I can use if I want to but the side effect can be pretty severe plus effect your immune system and in turn your body can start to attack all your cell not just cancer cells. So I have put that off for now after much worry and anxiety. Today I got brave and made a appointment for a consult with a certified Moh surgeon and a plastic reconstruction surgeon to talk about going the surgical route. I am proud of myself for not letting myself get cornered into a treatment that I am not sure about or comfortable with yet...So now my anxiety levels have lessened quite a bit and I am hoping to get a good nights sleep tonight..and hopefully tomarrow I can put all these worries behind me for a little while and enjoy my life a little bit before my consult appointment later this month. So That's the plan for now. Enjoy my life to the fullest by being present in the present moment. Living for today and in the now. I have plans to go to a craft and hobby show tomarrow..
