PrincessC Gets it Done!

Hi PrincessC Your progress is superb. Keep on keeping on! Let's take a look at PrincessC. PrincessC has a 38 days quit tomorrow. Lets figure that, that is going to work out to five weeks and three days. Wow! Keep up on the double duty of helping others although the primary focus should be on you. You are gaining a lot of experience at the quit managingit very nicely. I have been reading Penitent threads and I like this person thoughts. Penitents appears to have lots of insight and has been quit for more than two years.

I Ain't Gonna Make It , Guys

Hi BGB If you had one or two, that constitutes a slip and starting the clock back to 0 days is really harsh punishment. I wouldnt be so that hard on myself. You have gone seven solid weeks and that is a lot of time. Try looking at it as a slip instead of a start over, if thats all it was. So lets talk about the smoke. It gave you clarity did it? I find that interesting. I kind of remember that is what I used to feel like when I reached for a smoke when I had a hard technical problem to solve. But dont need it, problems get solved just as well with or without that smoke, or the flip of it is, they stay unsolved with or without the smoke. Try what PrincessC has suggested and get into yoga or at least see if you can focus on your inner self (that what you see and talk to when you need guidance). May I ask, did that smoke make you dizzy? Did it bother your lungs? Did you cough? How did you feel after you had it? Did it make you want another one or did you feel remorseful? I only ask these questions so that it may help you to evaluate your feeling with regards to smoking. You have had a remarkable struggle and I feel you have done very, very well. Find remedies for those smoking urges and talk to your friends here more when you need some additional strength. BGH, have a plan on what to do when the next urge comes about? Another day for you and all of us! It just another day! Would you like a mentor?

Hi MistyMoon I forget about how the quit was however you haven't and a perfect candidate for a mentor. You are in the thick of it and can be so helpful for the newsiest. A mentor that HAD smoked two to three packs a day and had quit of six weeks, make good sense as a teacher. You have the strength, knowlege and ability to be a good mentor.

Prepping for tomorrow

Ericon You sound motivated and ready to take the plunge. You say, "Ready as I will ever be". Right answer! Your postitive attitude will drive you to your final destination. This time you will get there. Twice tried in the last 7 months, you are ready. I smoked way, way too long myself. To quit, I found using a low grade 7mg patch 3 hours per day for about 3 weeks was just enough to smooth over the rough spots. The patch people recommend keeping the patch all 24 hours a day for 8 weeks. I used the patch from 4 pm to 7 PM. You may want to wear it full time or in the mornings. I don't really think I was capable of doing the cold turkey. I wanted a sure success and I got it. Counting on you to follow your plan, post often and talk to us. You are going to get a whole lot of assistance from non-smokers. You will do the work and we will help to keep you on track and place you in the non-smoking column.
