You have a lot going for you with your quit. 136 days is an exceptionally long quit, wouldn't you say! Don't put the quit in harms way. You wouldn't want to start from the beginning again. THAT is not pleasant and THAT is not an option. Lighting up will notchange a thing. Can you practice some deep breating, take a cool refreshing shower, munch on something.... or do what I use to do, self talk. I would think to my self: I don't need this, go away, go away , go away , I don't need this, go away, go away, go away, go away. Is that going to do the trick?

Tell the smoking gun to smoke outside the house and car. Lay the smoking rules down, and get him to quit some, three week afterhave gained strength.

Setting a quit period is interesting. I did a similar thing for the first three months, left myself the option. I don�t do it anymore now, but the option is there. It is my choice. It�s very difficult to deny yourself for a lifetime. Whatever works.
I haven�t seen people trying to minimized the difficult of the quit. Rather I see it as cheering their quit on. The more days the quit is extended the better off a body is. Don�t be offended. I often thought it most difficult for those who smoke 3 packs or more, those that are single, and those that have a smoking spouse or close friends who smoke.
Congratulation Correen on your super BIG day, day 30. Your are doing so very well. Thirty day is fantastic! Soon if not now, it will be just another day without a cig.

Survey of the Severity of Urges over Time- Your Feelings and Input are needed
If any of you have the time to elaborate on how you feel after any amount of quit :1 day, 3, days, 1 week, 2 weeks, a month, 2 months, 6 months one year, 2 years, etc. please do so. I think your responses may help everyone with what they may anticipate for themselves. Can we give this a try and see if there are similarities?
For me after six months and change of quit this is how I feel:
I might get an urge but I don�t really think you can call it that because I don�t want to smoke. Cigarettes come to mind when certain events cause my old triggers to come forward, but I can�t imagine lighting up. So the thought of smoking for me is dead, but I remember lighting up.
I was born with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth and I hadn�t even attempted to quit in 35 years and I smoked 5 to 10 years before that. I guess it is the habit of smoking that comes to mind. Does any of this make sense?

I don't want to sound like I am boasting and I am not, however I have extreme confidence with my quit. I have the same confidence in you and anyone who makes it through hell week. One just has to keep a strong mind about the subject. Just say, no.
I don't get cravings anymore at all. Somewhere in the last of part of month 5, they went away and have not returned. Just about where you are today. How strong do you feel your quit is? Do you still get urges?
