Feel like I'm coming UNGLUED.

Hi Colleen, Nothing wrong with the way you feel at all! I can't remember a day of this quit where I haven't felt tearful, but I have no regrets about that. When there's something wrong in our lives, we often suppress our emotions until things are better and I think that's what happens during the quit. Tearful does not have to mean unhappy. I don't think you'll come unstuck; you have a fantastic quit there and will soon be on the Beach. (Now I started myself off again). Big softy - Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,100 Amount Saved: 772.5 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 5 Mins: 28 Seconds: 9

Update on Moi! :-)

Hi Ang, Thanks for this post. It's always good to know that people are staying quit. I agree with you that we still have to 'watch our step' at 100 days plus, but it's also good for the new quitters to know that it really does get better, given time. ..... and a happy 4 month quit next week! Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,099 Amount Saved: 772.5 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 5 Mins: 24 Seconds: 6

Feeling better now!

Sorry, but that 'Last Post' post really got to me. So I've turned my anger into a positive force. I've been thinking about my old life as a smoker and it makes me angry when I think of all the time I wasted sitting there doing nothing except puffing away like a moron. I'm angry when I think of all the things I could have done with this time. I'm angry when I think of all the money wasted on that 'ten mile long' cigarette. And I'm angry that I closed my ears to any talk of secondary smoking because it made me feel too guilty..... And despite the advice, I keep a packet of cigarettes in the kitchen drawer. Marked 'POISON'. And a (used) ashtray. Which I stick my nose in one in a while just to remind me of what a pleasant little habit I used to have. Sorry to rant. Feeling better now! One step nearer to Freedom, one step away from Slavery. On my 2nd day

Hi Ex-Slave, Welcome here! This is a great site. I'm sure it will help you. When I gave up in February, I had a terrible cough; this disappeared within a couple of weeks. Keep us posted as to how you are doing All the best Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,104 Amount Saved: 772.5 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 5 Mins: 59 Seconds: 29

Feeling better now!

Thanks for all your comments - if I can start off such a discussion than I'm happy. A quick word for Mama who says 'Now, I'm 47 and the cigarettes have made me look older all right! I feel like I could cry.' Mama - there is a flip side to this. Other the past few weeks, several people have said to me, 'You look so good, you look younger, your skin looks so healthy' etc etc. Thanks again everyone! The undeniably handsome Mr Ed ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,101 Amount Saved: 772.5 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 5 Mins: 46 Seconds: 39

Time to quit......again!

Hello Chris, You've come to the right place! Just one thing, I won't wish you luck in your quit; what you need is determination and to stay focused; ie always remember the reasons you decided to do this in the first place. Congratulations in making your decision! One step at a time... Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 108 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,246 Amount Saved: 810 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 1 Mins: 6 Seconds: 26
