Congratulations Red... what an accomplishment! It helps me to see how you handled this. The anxiety still shows up, but you tell it to go away and it does. wow!
despair used to always be a part of the aftermath of anxiety attack, but not lately as I've worked through the lessons. Almost all emotions are more extreme during subsequent pregnancies because you cannot get enough rest... ever. I hope you are able to give yourself credit for doing as well (yes AS WELL) as you are. I'm sorry you are so isolated... the nice part about this site is that there is always someone here to listen and send gentle cyber hugs...( if that is ok).
I am so glad you mentioned this about the anger.... I surely have experienced the sticking around of anger ... I just hadn't thought about how it could be different. Ha! My self-talk is sooooooo mean. Thanks for the inspiration Red and the direction Davit and Sunny. so much to learn.... so much to learn.... the cool thing is it has started coming faster and easier.
I have found this prayer from the orthodox tradition very calming:
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God... have mercy on me.
You can repeat it aloud or in your head or write it down... I usually start out really fast when I'm anxious... but it starts to slow with my breath... and brings calm.
Oh Deb... I have been wondering where you were. You have been missed! so very sorry to hear about the medical emergency, but.... wow! .... so proud of you for handling it so well. Good luck with your follow-up appointment. Take care and keep us posted. ((((((((Debit))))))))
Hi Tam.... sorry you are having a hard time. Have you been reading the posts by and for MaggieRose who is dealing with similar anxiety. It might benefit the both of you to have contact with each other. Nothing like a friend that totally understands what you are going through. Just a thought.
