Myth or Fact?

Myth: Pregnant women should not use nicotine gum or the patch.

Fact: NRT use may be considered for pregnant women who are unable to quit. However, as with all drugs used by pregnant women, NRT use during pregnancy should be closely monitored by the physician.

A Reason to Stop Smoking

Hi Members,

Well there seems to be a lot of fear involved with smoking. On the flip side there is a fear with continuing to smoke, because of the effect it may have on other people.

Members, do you think fear is a positive or negative motivator?

Messed up again

Hi Talulha,

Its great that you're able to share your success here and with your family and friends. Congrats on all your success!

Its normal to have some fear about smoking again. When those thoughts do come up, counter them with positive talk. You can say things like " I know I have quit in the past, but this is the present. I am focusing on now and the future."
Feel victorious and proud each and everyday. You're doing great things for yourself.

What are you doing  differently this time when you reach the three month mark!
