Hello fellow Ashkickers. I know I am late checking in tonight. I have had a really really bad afternoon and evening here at home and haven't had the chance to get here before now. Very long story and don't really feel up to going into it right now, easy enough to say that my family is possibly going to be changing. My boys may be moving to their dads. If you all want to details I will cover it when my head is more clear. I am still very upset and in tears, been that way since I got home today at about 4:00. Had such good plans for the evening.. and NONE of it happened. I am very upset and have to say my cravings have been awful. A few times I even thought, "what the heck, why not". I have been good though and made it through because soon after thinking that I would remind myself that it would not help or fix the situation. So, I am still smoke free but very sad..... Wish I could sound more positive tonight... and I will be more positve soon.. Just very sad... Talk to you all soon...... Things I learned during week one of my quit.

Okay... over the past week I have been keeping a journal. I have been writing down things that "I learn"... so thought I would share what I learned the first week of my quit. Some of it serious and some if not so serious. Just thoughts that I jotted down. Things that I learned during the first week of my quit: I have learned that there are some wonderful people online, at SSC namely, that are always there if I need them. That wants me to succeed as much as I want to succeed. I have learned that from my house to the stop sign is .2 mile and that if I walk there and back twice I am walking .8 mile. I have learned to play Suduko and found that I really enjoy the game. I have learned that water isnt nearly as bad as I thought and I have drunk my fair share this week for sure! I learned that my hair now smells like my shampoo and NOT cig smoke! I learned that even smokers who smoke outside (like I did) still smell just as bad as those that smoke inside. (I have really noticed the smell of smoke on some of my smoking co-workers.) I have learned that it takes more than a week and an air freshener to get the smoke smell out of my car, next thing to try, Febreeze. I have learned that it isnt a good idea for the kids to break the toilet when my boyfriend and I are both quitting smoking. He goes on a rampage and I just sit there in a daze. He is raving mad and I am near tears. Man, glad that is over. LOL! I have learned when you go to a restaurant and they ask you smoking or non. Dont just say non when you are only 4 days in your quit. You should say, as far away from smoking as possible. We went to eat on day 4 of my quit and she asked smoking or non. We said non and even talked to her about our quits. The way we said non she knew something was going on. Well, she sat us right next to the smoking section. It was a challenge because we could smell it and after eating is one of my hardest times, but I made it through with flying colors. I have learned that there are some pretty silly commercials out there. I never saw the commercials before because that is always when I would run outside for my fix. I have learned that I was wasting about 1 hour and 45 minutes smoking every day. I have learned that self-tal

Lou P Lou has ONE week smoke free !

Hey again all.. Decided that I wanted a oreo ice cream as my treat. Reason being... I have been on what most would call a diet (I call a lifestyle change) for the past 4 months. Meaning I eat very little sweets and eat healthy and all.. So, even after I quit smoking last week I would not let myself eat lots of junk. (And for those of you who remember me being so worried about gaining weight. The walking and water and all has really helped. Instead of gaining weight, I lost 2 more pounds this week... Maybe it will hold that way) Well, about mid week I had a craving for oreo ice cream... so decided that tonight we would go out and get oreo ice cream... It was soooooooo good! LOL! Then I was telling my boyfriend about this store that has nice scrubs for pretty cheap. (I work in a hospital). So, we went in the see if it was true and it was... he bought me a new set of scrubs for work. So, guess I got double treated... It's the first week, why not I guess. Tomorrow is his 1 week. Yayyyyyyyy for him, and we are gonna treat him tomorrow. He said he didn't want to take away from my day, isn't he so sweet? Things I learned during week one of my quit.

Thank you all so much. I am so glad that you all liked it. I thought if any of my thoughts could help anyone else it would be worth putting it out there. mercy, I found myself giggling alot when I was going through it today. Funny to think back on the toliet situation. If you could have been a fly on the wall. Sitting back today thinking about it all I could do was laugh, even though it wasn't funny then. LOL!
