Chickened out of going for a short walk just to get a newspaper

Squarepeg, Don't be too hard on yourself. Your taking some great steps in the right direction! You've enlisted some great aid to help you get a hold on that anxiety. These outings will be a great way for you to practice controlling your anxiety, just be sure to prepare for them ahead of time. Start working through the program and take it one baby step at a time. Keep us posted. Danielle ________________________ The PC Support Team

Damage to our lungs?...bad day

Angel, Just like we challenge our anxious thoughts, we should try to correct our breathing with our deep breathing techniques. If it just seems like you can't get a hold of it, don't dwell, move past it. Find something to distract your mind from it for a couple hours. Hope this helps. Introducing myself

Dan, You can begin by educating yourself about panic disorder. This is the first step. Read through some of our educational information. The next step is to track your panic and learn about your panic cycle. Your session diary will help you do this. You can also read through some of our forums. There are lots of experiences out there you can learn from. If you have any questions, just ask. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Danielle ________________________ The PC Support Team

Fear to fail (versagensngste)

Crispi, Thanks for sharing your story. Our members should be along soon to share their experiences. I recommend you start working through the program so that you may start learning about your panic cycle and phobias. We also recommend seeking professional assistance from a mental health professional as you go through our program for additional support. You talked a lot about what other people thought of you but what do you think about yourself, accomplishments aside? Keep us posted. Danielle __________________________ The PC Support Team

Can't work because of Anxiety. And I'm scared

Kelly333, If you need financial aid, try asking your doctor for a referral to a social worker or call your local public health department. They too will also be able to help you get into contact with people who can help you determine whether or not you qualify for some form of social assistance. Sometimes Panic, othertimes no Panic.

Saintsfc, What is it about shopping that makes you panic on some days and not others? Where you anxious before you left? What thoughts run through your mind when you're shopping? Is it the number of people? Is the open space? What other contributing factors may be at play? If this doesn't help you narrow your situation specific phobias, then go broader. Hope this helps. Fainting Threat - Real or No?

Wholesale5, Start working through the program and make driving an exposure therapy goal. Start off slowly. Work you way into actually driving a small distance. Once you feel comfortable and have been able to manage your anxiety, gradually and slowly increase the distance you're driving. Take it one baby step at a time.
