Way to go Xena! You are so close to "over the hump". Hang in there. Here's what you maybe have to look forward to from one who is at the 19 day mark:
I hardly thought about "it" today.
I had virtually no cravings.
I enjoyed a long walk this afternoon.
Though I have reasons for stress in my life, I feel very, very calm.
It is so incredibly great to be free, at last, from this life consuming addiction.
I hardly ever have to go to the ATM anymore for cash.
I was quite repelled today by a fellow elevator passenger who smelled of tobacco.
I am no longer ashamed of myself.
I can look forward to traveling anywhere, including la de da bed and breakfast inns, as a non-smoker.
Well - you get the idea. I am sure you and everyone else on this wonderful support site can think of hundreds more reasons we are grateful for being non-smokers. So glad you are staying in the club1
Margo :)

Hi All - this message is especially for Lori - I do know what you mean about week two and especially mornings. I've now finished week three and it has mostly been easier. However, the morning still is the toughest time for me. I'm sure I have gained 5 pounds in three weeks but hang it, so what - this will come off in due time and losing the cigs is way, way more important to me and to all of us. My biggest "defense" against morning craves is breakfast - the real deal. I never ate breakfast as a smoker but I sure need it now. The Chantix continues to help but I am also tapering myself off of it. I took one pill for four days and then yesterday and today (so far) have taken 1/2 a pill. If I crave too much I will take the other half but I really want to see if I can get off the medication and back to something that is (my new) normal. Sorry for kind of rambling here but do hope you are doing well and that you and I and Starfish, if she's out there, can meet at the beach this winter.
Hang tough! Margo ;)

Hang tight - get today and tomorrow behind you and then it gets easier from there. You will see it mentioned elsewhere, but if you haven't already, now might be a good time to read some of Allen Carr's writing. It sure helped me do an attitude adjustment and make it through the first days. Wishing the best, Margo

Thanks for the "headline" Mr. Ed! Yup, four weeks it is - I can hardly believe it meself. Here's to the full month on Sunday. PS - done with Chantix for about 5 days now - somehow that has made life easier, not more difficult - go figure. Miss Margo

Thanks everyone! The support I have found here has made a big difference for me. I'm already planning my trip to the beach - should come just in time to get me out of some cold Minnesota weather. In the meantime, think I'll get myself some parsnips to reward my first month. (Joke - please read Kevin's posting about parsnips in the forum - it's great!). ;p Hope everyone has a great week.
