Music as a quit aid

I found the right music to be EXTREMELY helpful early on (back on day 3!) and still do when I'm feeling a bit low. Here's a few others! I think I'm an angrier person now

I'm feeling very much the same as you! It's really awful to pop off at people and at work I get the impression I'm the 'loaded gun' and people are starting to avoid me. I used to always go down and outside for a cigarette when I felt a bit stressed and never went off on anyone. Now what I do is try to remove myself from the situation and come back when I've calmed down a bit. Even to the point of going outside and walking around the block. I don't really believe it was the smoking that ever calmed me down (and we know physically it really doesn't!) but the act of 'walking away and cooling off'. Maybe that would work for you? Right now it's the only thing I can do to switch off the nasties! Doesn't make the feeling go though, only an extended exercise session does that! Respect for Rewards

Sometimes a deep breath is enough of a reward when you don't have time for anything else! Or a look in the mirror to see a ruddy complexion rather than grey and sallow. On my big milestones, I've mostly spent the day repeating that number like a mantra. 'It's 90 days today, three months without a cigarette...' I guess what I'm trying to say is the rewards don't always have to be complicated and planned, sometimes it's enough to take a look at the here and now and be grateful and proud of yourself! Respect for Rewards

I should've added - of course, a new handbag doesn't go amiss...! ;) x T My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 94 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,164 Amount Saved: 517 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 22 Mins: 0 Seconds: 14
