I can't even count the number of times I have quit and started again. It's like I have been practicing how to quit. I have been on this site for quite some time (and even had other profiles dating back to 2003) and used all the tools - which have been helpful. And yet, I slip and have trouble getting back on track. The only tool I didn't use is this forum. I think what I was missing was the support from people experiencing the same emotions and stresses of quitting.
So here I am...trying talk out what I'm going through this time. I am committed to this...day five and still hanging in there.
Cheers,
Skates :)

I have never really been this happy for a Monday. I had a tough weekend. I was sooo grumpy that I should have stayed in bed all day...or just resorted to eating everyhing in sight. My b/f even said that I didn't look friendly at all...he's still smoking (that's another story).
I kept myself busy all day yesterday. Went to the driving range, 2 walks and a treat at DQ. I am so happy to have made it through Sat and Sub...AND hell week!! Now to week 2 and deal with that 1 craving/1 day at a time.
Cheers!

I have to say that reading all the replies I had below put a HUGE and I mean HUGE smile on my face!!
Ya the weekend was horrible but I made it through...the cheeze pizzas, the Twizzlers, jelly donuts may have to wait for my next freak out...hey it's it's not nailed down when I feel that horrible...just kidding
I like the idea of rewarding myself for all the small wins. I heard that before but never thought that I could reward myself anytime I made it through one of my freak outs. I guess I can...I make the reward rules I guess. LOL I will def make a list and post it everywhere that I can...or at least keep it handy.
Thanks again for all the encouragement...Heck week...watch out!! I'm ready for you.

Todash, I'm am starting to realize that it is just easier to breathe doing whatever I'm doing. My goal is to run another 1/2 marathon in Sept. I'm looking forward to starting my training. My first intense cardio workout, in about 6 months, is planned this weekend. I'll let ya know how I do.

My last pack of cigarettes...easy to remember. I smoked every single one in the pack...pretty much chain smoked them util they were gone. I felt a bit ill but I couldn't bring myself to flush them or throw them out. I took a shower to wash the smell away and I threw a patch on right after. On other quits, I saved 1 smoke, wrapped it up and put it in the freezer for peace of mind knowing that I had one just in case...that never worked. I don't need a "sniff" reminder...I'm like Brenda, I never liked the smell of cigarettes but I understand how that would be a great motivator for others.

First off, to get your quit metre showing on your posts, go into "MY PROFILE" at the top. You have all of your options there were you selected your quit date, number of cigarettes smoked and so on. There is a question there asking if you want your quit metre showing to show on all your posts, select yes... and voila!
I hear you on the number of times quitting. I have been through that myself. This place has helped me a lot and I have been here many times. It's frickin' hard to quit...we all know it. You'll know when this is the final quit. I'm only 2 weeks ahead of you so by no means am I out of the woods. I am taking it one day at a time and one craving at a time. This forum is great too...read and post often.
