Hello. Way to go on having 11 smoke free days!!! I haven't used Chantix but have heard some good things about it. I am new here myself but have had some great words of wisdom and a lot of encouragement come my way, I am sure you will as well. Once again, way to go on having 11 days down.....

Hello, I quit smoking July 5. I haven't smoked even once, as much as I have wanted too!! My problem is that even after 88 smoke free days I still crave a smoke several times a day. I dream about smoking, literally!! I won't smoke again, I can't..... I know that by now all of the physical withdrawels have passed, but these mental ones are more than I bargained for. I look forward to any advice from others who have/are experiencing the same thing.

Thank you all for the wonderful words of wisdom. It is helpful to know that what I am feeling isn't something that is unusual, although I do feel bad for the others who are going through the same thing. I spent several hours last night reading through old posts and I read many things that seemed to hit home. I wish I had found this place when I first quit!! Thank you again and I am sure you will be hearing from me again!!!
And, congrats to all of you!! I am surrounded by inspirtations!! :)

Hi Nu Life,
Welcome to SSC. I think you will find that you will get all of the support and encouragement you need from the fine people here. I understand the frustration of having a family that might not be supportive of your current attempt because of so many past attempts which weren't successful. Every time I said I was going to quit my sister would laugh and say, "For how long this time?!" This quit has been different than most of the others because it has lasted (I did have one quit that was three years!) Please come here and post and/or read when you feel the urge to smoke. I don't post often, but when I do feel like smoking I usually come here and read the old posts and all of the wonderful advice that has been given. Good luck to you. I look forward to reading a post from you on the 29th letting us know how day 1 is going. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! YOU WILL DO IT!!!

I would very much like to have someone I can talk to on messenger from time to time when I feel like caving. I don't have any preferences as to who. I have downloaded the SSC Messenger and look forward to being able to get a good kick in the rump when I know I need it!! Thank you!! :)

Thank you Mr. Ed for the boost today. I came to the SSC tonight because that is what I do when I feel I am close to losing this battle. I didn't realize that today is an 'anniversary' of sorts until I read what you had written. I won't be smoking today, perhaps because of you. Thanks again.... Sissy

Dear Mary,
I am sorry that things are so hard right now. Please be gentle with yourself right now. The disappoinment you feel is understandable. You are dealing with many things right now. The loss of your husband and the grief you feel are perhaps so great right now that you might need to focus on that. Have you seen a doctor about your depression? I hope you will concider it. I am not a doctor, nor an expert, but I have been somewhere near where you are right now. Three years ago I lost my husband. Please feel free to contact me anytime should you want to talk, I have the messenger thing. As for the smoking, when you are ready to hop back on the wagon we will all be here to help you stay on. Sending hugs your way.....
Sissy

Dear Moqueen & hubby,
I developed a severe reaction to the adhesive used on the patches. I tried more than one brand to no avail. The rash would remain and itch for sometimes more than a week. I ended up using the Commit lozenge and it did wonders for me. I wish your husband well and congrats on 50 smokefree days. You two are awesome!!!
