My First day and I feel weird!

Is there anybody out there who has felt like a total zombie on their first day quit? I can't shake this feeling. I feel hopelessly unreal. Everything feels like a dream. This isn't my first time quitting, but I have never felt this way before. It is kind of scary. And when do I get to see my mileage actually start to count? Thank you to anybody who is reading this. I really do feel weak right now. My First day and I feel weird!

God Bless You ALL for your encouragement and kind words. I really appreciate the support. I felt much better after reading what you all had to say. I am doing everything I can to either stay a sleep or stay buisy. I just recently felt the most uncontrollable urge to smoke "just one last ciggarette," but I didn't give in! Instead I decided to see if anybody had any response to my earlier post. I thank you all very much for taking the time to care enough to return meaningful responses to me. This program is truly amazing ha?! 30-100 days "No Man's Land"

Thank you so much for reposting that! Today is my first day quitting and already I am wondering "what I am doing." I couldn't have been more releaved when I had read that to hear that it will end. The words in that piece only confirmed my decision that I was doing the right thing in quitting now and to not cave into my addiction like I would like right at this moment. So thank you. As you said it best... You just saved my life, at least for today. What is it that they say, one day at a time right? My First day and I feel weird!

I agree with Jim very much! Thank you all for writing in response to my words. I really think that I might have slipped last night if it wasn't for this feeling that I had people out there who really cared enough to help me quit. This site has really put the whole quitting process in perspective for me. I am dealing now with the fact that there is another smoker in the house who doesn't have enough respect to smoke outside. Aghh the agony of ignoring the smell. Any suggestions would be helpful. Again thank you all! For Alphabet Jen

Hey, Congratulations to you Jen! I think of you as my motivational buddy. We quit at the same time, so I think that we could really help eachother out by staying strong for eachother. Just knowing that there is somebody out there going through exactly what I'm going through right now at this very moment, and that this person continues to stay strong is extremely helpful. So stay strong Alphabet Jen, and stay in touch. I know that we will make it through these trying times!!! For Alphabet Jen

Your such a sweet heart, I really hope that you have continued to stay smoke free. I must admit I almost slipped up today, but the important thing is that I DID NOT! Whoo hoo, I feel so much more powerful now. How about you? Stay strong, I know that I thought to myself well I'm not in this alone, Alphabet Jen is going through this same thing right now. And how bout these people? They are pretty amazing ha? Take care of yourself and hang in there, they say these cravings will go away. My First day and I feel weird!

Hey everybody, thank you! Only a former smoker could understand what a withdrawal from a ciggarette can be like. To get real help and real answers from people who really understand is what is keeping me afloat right now. The smoker in the house is my father, and unfortunately I am in his house therefor he will not go outside. I do now have a greater sense of pride being able to ignore that smell and to be able to persue a healthier life by my will power. It is mind over matter on this one, as I found out earlier today. I almost slipped up. I had the square up to my mouth, and I just started to light it when... I pulled it out of my mouth before it could even light up, and I threw it away instantly. I'm not even sure exactly why I did it, but I gotta tell ya all. I felt great after doing so! One more day of being smoke free! This post is for anyone who is thinking about starting back.

Wow...I could be wrong but my personal thought is maybe that God's plan was to utilize Joe to save many upon many lives. I am on my 5th day of my quit as I am writing this, and the thought that has been going on over and over in my mind up until now is this. I am only 22 years old. A part of me kept on believing that I am too young to have anything serious happen to me, and that I could realistically keep on smoking until I get older. Well, like many others who have read this thread I NOLONGER feel this way. This is why I believe that this may have been God's plan for Joe, for I am another live that has been saved from his story. This is my first day

Hi and Welcome! Congratulations on deciding to quit! You've come to the right place, believe me. Don't feel bad about this being your second time, because you can learn off what triggered you to smoke the first time. This is my third and final attempt to quit, and I have never made it this far into my quit before. I truly believe the people on this website are one of the main reasons for my success. Post often! Everyone here really cares about eachother! Best of wishes to you! I want to stop smoking soon

Hi Mikey, just wanted to let you know that I tried the expensive lazer therapy too. It didn't work for me. About 3 days into into it I started smoking again. It was kind of like a false lead and made me feel like I would never want to live without squares. Because they advertise that you will feel NO symptoms (like the restlessness) I thought that their was somethning wrong with me for having those symptoms. What i realized after getting started in this site was what it really comes down to is this-you have to REALLY WANT TO QUIT! No therapies or non smoking aids will be enough to get you through the tough times that you will still have NO MATTER WHAT you use! But because I got involved with this site and because I really wanted to quit I chose a quit date and I now know that I will never smoke again. Yes, i still get cravings, but no I won't follow through with them this time because I realized that I really want to be smoke free. So that's it... Do you REALLY want to quit? Are you ready to DO instead of TRY? Your words express your thoughts so be true to yourself. The best time to quit is when you are ready! Best of luck to ya, and remember when you are ready we will all be here for you!
