Hello, I?m new!

Hello, my name is Barbee and I'm new to the forum.  I quit smoking on 8/16 - it's two weeks today that I have not touched one single cigarette!

I have to confess, though, I miss it particularly in the morning.  *sigh*

Hello, I?m new!

Well, during the day, too, but particularly strong in the morning.  And when watching TV.  So what do you do then?  Oy.

Thanks, Tony!

My dog died today

 = broken heart.

Rubygem, I totally understand how you feel - and, knowing me, I'd have probably gone back, too.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

Hello, I?m new!

Hey all, I got busy at work!  But I still remain smoke-free!  I went to the doctor for a follow-up visit on Monday and he was very pleased that I stopped and my lungs are all clear now.  My quitting, BTW, was prompted by me taking myself to the emergency room on 8/16 because I couldn't breathe.  Bad!!!  But I'm much better now!

Funny you all say to change my morning routine, because I have.  And I DO sleep in a little later!  I used to get up early to have my coffee and five cigarettes - can you believe I actually made time for that?  Geez.....  So now I get up in time to make my coffee, and get ready for work.

It's not easy, but I love the fact that I can breathe deeply, climb stairs and tonight's test will be the return to the gym!

My Mileage:

My Quit Date: 8/16/2010
Smoke-Free Days: 16
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 640
Amount Saved: $351.68

Day 16

And believe me, this is truly a success for me.  Every time I tried to quit, I'd take off the patch at home and smoke.  Hello?  What was the point????  Now, I am 16 days smoke-free!

I bought two pairs of shoes to celebrate ME!

When nobody seems to understand !

Breather, you so rock with that post!  And so true!!  A friend of mine started the same day as me (8/16/10) and every night, removed the patch and smoked.  Hello???  But at first there was all this talk of doing it together, getting more active/gym, etc.  I knew deep inside she would bail and I was right.  I was angry at first, but then came to realize hey, it's on her, not me.  What I've done is to benefit me and no one can own that but me.  What others do is their business.

Glad I came here to find like-minded people - people who are truly committed!

Keep the Quit, ya'll!!
