PB So sorry i missed your latest post.. I must have been somewhere self absorbed... I am so proud of you for not smoking the evening your son went missing!!! I do not know if I could have gotten through that stress alone.... WOW the last few months for you keep getting more stressful.. every day!!! I must mean that 2008 is going to be a piece of cake for you and your family. Lots of luck to you & keep posting or venting, whatever you want to call it... I would like to thank everyone for your encouraging and wise words. Just to let everyone know, I had a BIG test this weekend, my 15 year old son left the house Saturday afternoon around 2pm, said he was going to a friends, well at 9:30pm I was driving around looking for him, with no success. I finally fell asleep on the couch at 2 am, when I woke in the morning, he still wasn't home. I filed a police report at 2pm Sunday, and at 3:45pm Sunday he called. Turns out he was at another friends house and they didn't have a phone. I would say passing that test was a leap forward for me. I remember thinking about smoking, but another voice in my head kept saying that would be stupid, your not going throw it all away for this, it won't change anything. So I never even came close to smoking, and my thoughts were under control for the most part, except for the part of wanting to do bodily harm to my son!!! LMAO So to all my friends, I am doing well, there is nothing like getting a good old dose of reason and tough love from all of you. Thanks again, I'll keep you all posted, and I am glad to see everyone doing well. Peace. PB, life is about challenges...with a breather here and there. If it wasn't, we'd never grow. If things are getting to you, go for a walk in the park, go to a movie, talk to a friend (as you did here about this problem) or a minister... do something positive, and the draw to do something destructive will go away. But don't just white-knuckle it until you smoke. You know all this. Go do it! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 250 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,250 Amount Saved: $2,312.50 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 5 Mins: 50 Seconds: 37

PB, lovely to see you here again! How many posts have you read where some one threw away their quit, regretted it, and was here to start again. I haven't read one post that said - wow, thank God I blew my quit and my health, it really helped my problem!! whew! I know you know this already, you just needed to vent huh? Stick your quit reasons in your pocket, laminate them if you need to, pull them out if it gets bad, buy some lollipops, do anything, don't smoke. I have total faith in you. Hey there PB, In a couple of weeks you will be at 6 MONTHS - let that sink in! Think of how far you have come since the start of 2007. How much you have accomplished, how much you have gone through - you can hang on for a few more weeks. Six months is a really big deal. This is a terrible analogy but here goes. Our quits are like those spikey strips at parking garages (told you this was bad) - we can only go in one direction...FORWARD. If we try to back up something will break and we'll pay dearly for the decision. It won't always be like this but the only way to get to the other side is to keep taking it a day, week or month at a time. You've added over three weeks to your life and NOT smoked over 7,500 times. What are you enjoying about being a non-smoker? All the best My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1191 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 23,820 Amount Saved: $5,359.50 Life Gained: Days: 90 Hrs: 22 Mins: 47 Seconds: 37
