Hi GW,

Nice to meet you and I am glad that you finally decided to post.  Everybody needs a little help sometimes and this is the best place to find it.  It sounds like you had some pretty good quits in your past so you know what to expect.  Always come here with anything you need help with, thats what we are here for.

Hi Gogy Wog....

Good to have you join everyone here.  Like Breather said,  if you post about what you are going through, you are likely to get some responses that may help you, and also I second the idea that sometimes we need to vent.  There is something therapeutic about putting the pen to paper and verbalizing our thoughts.  At least for me anyway.

You have already got 45 days under your belt........off to a good start.  Now don't be shy if you need some help now and then.  Every one here is here because we also felt we couldn't do this alone. You are in good company Jo.

Welcome............

Jo, so happy you decided to join us!  Congratulations on reaching 45 days smoke free!  And look at your stat meter!  How much money you saved, how many cigarettes you didn't smoke, but most important, how much of your life you have gained.  I hope this is your final quit.  It looks like you are well prepared after reading lots of posts here and that you actually WANT to quit this time.  I hope this is your final quit.  We're all here rooting for your success!

Hope I got that name right...I also used the patch and understand your feelings at step down.  The good news is that you already have experienced two step downs.  Use what you learned from that as you move through this stage.  For me the things I learned about myself and my relationship to smoking became a great source of motivation as I worked toward total cessation.  Keep moving forward, you are going in the right direction and once you find the things that work for you, the journey will be its own reward.  That may sound a bit optimistic but I assure you that if you take this on now eventually you will know the trip was worth it...

Stay Strong

Hello again  We support each other in our quest to stop smoking. You are using the forum in exactly the way it was intended. I am here to support you in your quit as the other members are here as well. They say it normally takes about 7 trys before a person stops smoking for good. Looks like you're right on schedule. If you're craving try drinking cold water or going outside and breathing fresh air. Post and read posts. Someone will say the exact thing you need to hear. Sometimes we just need to vent. If you're having a hard time stay close and post often. Don't cave to the crave. breather 29 Addict 0

Thank you for taking me under your wings.   Just thought I would add some info about my situation. I'v been having a tough time the last few days and decided I need to be accountable and felt like I already had a connection.. I have smoked for approx. 40 years and attempted about 7 previous quits...the longest being 2 1/2 years.  I feel more confident with this quit as my attitude is totally different.  I actually WANT to quit this time....just have to keep chasing the nicodemon away.  I'm really not sure if I am using this forum correctly, if I mess up please let me know.
