Elaine...don't approach it with the thought that you can 'never' smoke....that is just way to scarey for some of us. Just "choose" to not smoke for right now.
You should still rid your house and car of all smoking materials.....but then just do it one minute/hour/day at a time. Practice relaxing techniques when the cravings come around....if that doesn't work then take a walk....take a shower....go for a run....get on here and rant and rave...get a bundle of straws to chew on....get a bag of sour lemon drops to suck on. yell and holler....lie in the floor and kick and scream....punch a pillow.....but just don't light up. if you practice distract and delay, the cravings will pass.
I used the patches cause they took an 'edge' off the cravings....the cost? well a generic brand didn't cost as much per week as my smoking did? and using patches was over in 12 weeks....smoking was gonna go on forever!
don't make failing an option. Think positive....all you are doing is NOT lighting up.....if you light up, you are giving the control to the junky....get mad and resist!!! Don't let a bunch of rolled up, burning weeds control your life!
and believe us....this CAN be done
