Wow Deb!
Sounds like you had an exciting and relaxing trip! Glad to hear that it went well, and that you didn't smoke! Hooray is right!
Keep up the great work

Here's my nutshell version:

Kayaking in the sloughs.... saw LOTS of wildlife including those cutie pie sea otters.

Horseback riding on the beach.

A hot stone massage.

A NON-SMOKING room overlooking the beach with a very cool hot tub built into a window overlooking same beach.

This was actually my first challenge away from home.  I usually associate vacations with allowing myself to do whatever pleases me.  So I did have urges to smoke, but they didn't last very long.  And I also really appreciated the fact that I could hang out doing the fun things that I did without trying to figure out when and where I was going to have a cigarette.

I was really able to smell the beach air, and really appreciate my health.

Hooray :)

I've appreciated other people writing about facing a new setting without smoking (you just did that yourself, Karren!).  Those firsts are a little scary going into them, but resisting urges really wasn't as bad as I thought they might be.

Back to work with me.  Sigh.... I still want to be kayaking with my otter buddies.

Yes!!!  I just got back from a fabulous vacation late last night.  Hopefully I didn't worry anybody-- I just decided to extend it.  I'm at work and mobbed so I'll write more later about the bliss of having a smoke-free vacation.

Thanks for checking on me buddy.
