I am back for the second time I went nine months and released, but as soon as I came back I reset my meter, it took me a while to come back but this time I am here to stay, I think I left the site to early before, without the support it is too easy to slip. This thread seems to have gotten off the subject lol. I guess the reason I named this thread the way I did is b/c when someone moons the world, everyone see's your bare bottom. So after you've bared it, u can't take it back, lol. It's been put out there for everyone to see. But in our case it feels good to bare yourself. I would really like to know who's on there 100% very 1st time quiting? And also, how many people in here have slipped (even a couple puffs), during this quit that they're in right now? Who slipped and didn't reset their meter back to 0? Step right up :) Just breathe......... Well Joyful, you know that I have been at this quitting business for a while. I think this is my 7th quit since I came to this site. I have never been able to keep it at a slip - I have always relapsed...for various periods of time. I think during my first quit here at the SSC, when I slipped, I didn't reset...but only until I slipped again. Since then I have always reset. This time, no slips, nor will there be. It is all or nothing for me. The pain of relapse is too painful to bear....NO MATTER WHAT is going on in my life. But that is me. If setting the meter back, or not, is what is going to work for you...then do it. It only matters that you are quit NOW, and the you remember NOPE, from now on. Cherie, it is your deal, so it doesn't matter what I would do. Just keeping quitting and it will all work out okay. Don't give up, we haven't. Thank you all for your support and very encouraging words. When I'm tired & emotionally drained it's easy for me to interpret the translation of words other than the way they were meant. I've had some sleep now and feel gr8 about my quit :) That slip really was good for "me". It made me want this quit much more. I don't see quitting smoking the same as quitting drinking as far as the meter's concerned. Yes if I had a drink today I would have to start all over from day one. But one drink doesn't take 7 min's off your life like a cig. And I would like my meter to be as accurate as possible and right now I'm really not into the all or nothing way of thinking. I'm looking more for learning how to find balance in my life. You all have helped me so much & I know that no matter what happens in this moment or the next, as long as I keep coming to this site I will be taking babysteps in the right direction. Thanks again everybody!!!!!!!!! Just breathe.........
