I, too, laughed at the "Save Bubba" reference. MomMom and her sweetheart, I can tell you, catch and release on their fishing trips. Don't think MomMom would know how to "clean" a fish if her life depended on it...and if she's looked a fish in the eyes, I don't think she'd want to eat it anyway! The nurse is suffering from some ill health this week. Humidity has been non-existent this week, so pollen counts are off the charts. I'm trying to get used to planning my activities around the weather and it stinks. I've also developed a nasty cough this week, I think it could be related to the advair my allergist has me taking now. As I sit here short of breath, smoking is the last thing on my mind! Anyway, hubby too is still smoke free, and he has finally hooked up our internet! Yayyyy!!! It's good to be back! I promise to try to get on here daily and say a personalized hello to everyone. Notice I did say 'try'! Keep kicking ash!!! ~Nursey My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 571 Amount Saved: $171 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 17 Mins: 0 Seconds: 10

*****FAITH Please feel better soon******* So sorry to hear about your eye Faith, and I'm glad you got to the Doctor quickly. Ouch, it must have hurt, but if they have saved your sight it will have been worth the temporary pain. I will pray for your retina to be intact and that you will heal up in no time. Smoking would be sooooo badddd for you right now that I'm even prouder of you for knowing it is not an option even though you thought about it. Please have fun if you can and come home feeling as rested as possible. JT...you have me rolling on the floor laughing my ash off. I was going to throw my first computer off the 3rd floor balcony!!! Your hubby comes running when you call for help...and everyone I know runs in the opposite direction (they're just afraid I'll miss with the extra long bat I use)! Freemom I'm so glad you've had your ah ha moment! Be angry, break pencils, punch your pillow, break dishes, do whatever it takes to stay quit. Here...have a really nice big glass of wine, a whole box of chocolates (my email address is inside) and take care of yourself for the next few weeks...you can make this your final quit! Have a great Friday Rainie, Cap'n Lady and all my shipmates and visitors! Lynne, have a great visit with your Mother! I have a busy day tomorrow so may not get back onboard until Saturday. Take care and keep kicking our Magic Ash! Pat First Mate ***mozies past the pool area with a fresh bottle of wine to share with all her friends while swinging in our hammocks enjoying the warm ocean breezes and the music drifting across the water from the party on the beach*** I said hey bartender Hey man looka here Draw one, draw two, draw three, four glasses of beer Elwood! Faith - hope you are feeling better. Eye problems are rough - my dad had (at separate times) detached retinas and surgery to correct them - know that it is treatable and recovery should be complete. I had an aha moment today that I need to share. I'm still Chantixing so the smoking I had done wasn't really giving me a nicotine kick - it was all psychological. Well I, FINALLY, for the first time since starting this journey got ANGRY and said to myself, "This is Bulls***!" I control this and I'm not going to let this darned addiction get into my head to defeat me, not ever again. I have never (even in my 3-4 week non-smoking streak) felt that strong and in control. So bring out that magic chocolate and wine and let's party on to Cabo! Shipmates, I am really back now! If anyone wants to get me on IM at some point and exchange e-mail addresses let me know. I think it would be a great help esp since sometimes I want to chat/vent and it might not be totally on topic here! Let's get dancing to some tunes ... "Baby you can do it, take the time do it right you can do it, baby, do it tonight" (Can't remember who sang this one, it's a disco song) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Pat you know me so well. The bat was in hand.:eg: The first time I used a computer I threatened to throw it out the window.:8o: My husband knows to come running when I am on the computer and call him.:) Yahoo we heard from Freemom and Lady has joined us. Faith will be back soon. What at special day. Faith, I am so sorry about your eye. I do not get grossed out about much, but eyeballs and patellas I can't handle. I hope you are feeling better. I promise not to play golf around you for a very long time. Can't wait to have you back on board soon. Freemom, remember we are here. Now let's crank up the tunes and get you through the first month. You can do! Lady now let's move you chair up here in the middle of the party. You can read tomorrow morning. We will all be sleeping late from all the ...........dancing that's it. The dance. Well folks, I got to run. Oh just so you do not think I have found a smoking corner, I will be heading out of town this weekend. Spring Break for the kids. I will return on Wednesday. I will miss everyone. Stay strong and of course stay smoke free. HELLO TO ALL MY BLESSED AND BELOVED SHIPMATES!!! I mean, "YEE HAW!!!" Yes, I'm still in Texas -- head home to the northwest on Saturday morning. I'm more than ready to head home. I've seen three doctors since I arrived last Wednesday. The first for an antibiotic for a sinus infection that just won't go away, but the second and third were much more serious. I had an episode where I suddenly saw a field of tiny black dots in my left eye, and very little else. (shadows only -- scary!) That was on Sunday and my vision isn't completely restored yet. Turns out I had two tears in my retina and was bleeding profusely. The surgeon conducted a very painful freezing (so cold it burned) technique to seal the tears. (It feels like someone used my poor eye ball for a soccer ball!) I have to see a retinal specialist on Monday to make sure the retina hasn't detached. They couldn't be certain because of all the bleeding. Oh, well, boo hoo, huh? It has also rained a good deal. I did get to golf once last week, but now have been instructed to protect my vulnerable eyeballs, so no golf for now! The good news? There always is on the Magic Ship, right? NO SMOKING for me and very few thoughts of it, although during the eye issues, I had many thoughts. But, that would be pretty stupid at this point, now, wouldn't it? My sister and niece threw a huge party for me to congratulate me as a nonsmoker -- balloons, a most wonderful and delicious chocolate cake and a bottle of wine all for me! They do know their Faith! I was truly touched, as everyone here are staunch non and never smokers. I finally got a chance to get online and check the Magic Ship -- I've missed you all so! Sounds like a lot has been happening on board. FREEMOM: I was SO thrilled to see you back. Now you MUST hang in there. Don't just lurk now -- stay with us so we can help. You CAN do this! Welcome back on board -- we've missed you terribly! MOMMOM: Don't make me worry about you -- you're my rock, remember? How can I help? I need my most favorite Vegas buddy! Stay with me. LADY: I didn't get a chance yet to read your other thread, but you clearly posted that you're having a tough time. I'm so happy that you joined us on board. It's like Disneyland -- the "happi
