Thanks Tiana, I appreciate your feedback.  I'm going to start seeing a counselor Friday, add some talk therapy to the meds.  But yes, I realize I definitely need the meds.

I have only started the program here, but the second part, I need to print out something I think, my printer is packed away (we're building). So I'm stalled. Once I'm set up I might go for it.

Thanks again,

FF

Great to hear from you, FFirecracker! I remember you slipping into that dark place and I'm glad you are slowly making your way out of it! I'm proud of you for being so strong.

As I may have said then, please be gentle with yourself about being on medication! If it works, and nothing else does right now, then hang onto it as the benefit that it is.

Are you doing the program? As a personal believer in mindfulness, I'm glad you received, followed, and were happy with the book advice.

I posted here maybe about a month ago, and then I know I disappeared for a bit.  But I had gone off my meds nov. 13th thinking I could do it without meds, but a few weeks later, I started to relapse. I hit a very dark place.  I started the same meds again, Effexor XR (rapidly increased from 35 to 150), have been on the max dose for about 3 weeks now, and I notice that the dark negative thoughts & feelings etc.. are starting to lift.  It is such a relief.  I just wanted to give you an update, because a few people here were really helpful when I was down.  The anxiety is still very much present, but I'll tackle that next.  The most pressing for me was lifting the depression.  And also to whoever suggested I read Mindful Way Through Depression, I am reading it and I find it very interesting, I just wanted to say thank you.
