Hi- why is this happening to me?

Hi Free Radical- I've experienced a similar "stepping into the grand canyon" type sensation in a lot of my panic attacks. I get dizzy, feel disoriented, and sometimes it doesn't feel like the ground is flat. Sucks! The humorous thing to me is that some people take drugs to have weird experiences like that, whereas a lot of people that have experiences like mine or yours take drugs (medications) to get rid of them. Hopefully this website will help you some. I'm new to this website & just started the program at the suggestion of my therapist. Good luck. Becky

Well free radical, I'm sorry that you have had these things happen to you and that you have been one of the lucky ones (just like us...lol) to have experience this disorder. It's good that you have found this site and that your are on your way to managing and controlling this. I have had the same feelings and symptoms as you other than the vomiting. I have a fear of puke and I think that I would faint. lol Deff felt like I was going to but never have. Keep at making yourself healthy and doing the breathing treatments and anything you can to keep your mind positive about everything. Your Friend, Bruce.

Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. Hi FR- Welcome! I'm sorry we have to meet under such circumstances, but you most definitely came to the right place. Let me reassure you that many of us panic sufferers experience combinations of those exact symptoms. I think it would be a great idea for you to work through the program and keep us posted with whatever questions or concerns you may have. Until then, just remember that the trick is to keep breathing. Very glad to have you aboard. :)

Hi everyone, I am going to introduce myself as Free Radical. About a year and a half ago, I was stepping off a curb at 15th street at Union Square... and it felt like I was stepping into the Grand Canyon. Since then I have had 'panic attacks' that have included: - Sweating - Teeth chattering - Shaking - The above mentioned disequilibrium - Feet 'going to sleep' - Hot flashes / cold sweats - in the worst episodes: sudden vomiting. Aren't *I* a dream date, eh? So I am introducing myself, and I hope to hear from others who may have a few of these symptoms and can tell me what might be going on? To everyone most respectfully, ~FR
