What ifs

Dizzy,

So right but I have said before, you have a choice. You can have positive or negative "what ifs" just like negative or positive core beliefs or thought patterns. In my eyes I see it boils down to three things. Perception, attitude, and belief. You have to be able to see something. You have to be able to be positive. And you have to believe it will work. The rest is just time consuming labour. Coping skills, exposure, emotions, relaxation and distractions are all there too but with out the first three you may not get far yet you may not be able to do them without being able to do the others, Including medication. Like I said before this will be the hardest simple thing you ever do. After all it really is just positive over negative. How you do that is what makes it hard. And if it was not hard to do none of us would be here.

Is this not true?

Here for you,
Davit.

I use the same picture for My desk top. It is very bright on my screen. It is the road that runs past my house. The roof is just visible on the right. I am glad you like it.

Yes if is another of those powerful words we seldom think of. Is there not a poem wrote about it?

Here for you,

Could not agree more I do not want to be caught in semantics and who is right and wrong about a word, however the “what if” takes on more significance than just the “if” word. You could say, “If I go to the bath room now I won’t have to pull over and stop on my way to the cottage”. However if you say “what if I go to the bath room now” leaves much more room for all the possibilities that you can dream up that could go wrong. To change the first statement into danger you would have to put in “if I do not” then a negative thought can arise or fantasy.

Hi Davit,

I never really thought of it this way before.  You are so right.  The word if does imply fantasy because it is a unknown so if you make it a good what if it becomes a positive experience... You are so insightful.  Thank you for the tip.  By the way I just love your new avatar it looks like a fantasy come true...Thank you for putting it up...It really does make me feel at peace when I see it...

Did you know that every time you enter the the word if into a sentence you turn it into fantasy.
That's right every thing after the word if is made up, not like using the word when. So why the fear of what ifs, since they are fantasy and being fantasy you can make them any thing you want. Silly what we let have power over us. But we do, do you think it might be because we don't realise we are doing it. So if you are going to enter "if" into the equation make it a good if.

Davit.
