In the car and on the freeway.

Update for the weekend exposure:
Saturday- went to grocery, was ok but stayed in the front of the building and didn't wait in line with support person. But I was still glad I got out.
Monday- went to the bank, didn't wait in line with support person but waited standing at the side. No anxiety at all so this tells me I have problems with the line itself. But it was a nice experiment to observe this. Went to library after... was anxious but I was able to check out by myself. I think I'm getting used to the library's line, well, there wasn't much people there so don't know.. but that was that for that day... every day is different :)

Davit, nice fantasy. In a perfect world, everything would just come to us! Just kidding... we'd be very lazy then. It would be great if everything we needed was all on our block so we can just walk there.

Red, thanks for the advice. I agree that self care is number one too. I think being healthy and at your best is the best way one can help another too.. and doing that will inspire others to do the same.

Anerol,
Congratulations on going to the art store for supplies. Getting what you wanted and checking out by yourself.  This is big deal.  You are expanding your world.
I am sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather.  Rest is the best thing, giving yourself  a little of that self care they talk about will do you a lot of good.  I have been doing a lot of just that for the last few days and I am starting to get my energy back.  You can read the forums later. Take the Advice that Ashley gave me. Its not your problem. You need to take care of yourself first. You can find this information on the forum page under helping other members.  Self care.

Take care of yourself,

Red

In a perfect world the freeway would move at a slow pace and we could park on it and just ride along till we got where we wanted and it would have different speed lanes separated by barriers so we didn't have to see the cars in the other lanes. And plenty of warning before our exits. And there would be flower boxes on the barriers.

Davit, surviving in a not perfect world.

Hey guys, thanks for the encouragement.
Lucid dream, that would be great... we should just make a city/community with people like us.

Today I'm not feeling so great... feeling fatigued and exhausted... perhaps it's the weather or allergies. I'll be back for the rest of forums another day.

Happy June, lovely peeps.

Wait!  I have it!
We should build freeways, etc. that cater to us folks with anxiety.  We could have big pull out spots (with lots of relaxing music playing and free chamomile tea).  We could all go as slow as we want and we'd all be there to support each other (little honks and waves as we pass by each other)!
LOL...in a perfect world...;-)

Anerol:  That description of your exposure shows that you are getting there!  Don't worry about how you felt before - celebrate how wonderfully well it happened.  Just a few more times, a few more successes and you will be even less anxious and then one day, it'll be hardly anything at all.  Your confidence level for that activity will rise. I think it sounds very positive.

It will happen, believe me, I was the same way.

Although Saturdays are the days I planned for grocery exposure, I didn't go this Saturday. I became really scared because it was memorial weekend and I felt extra dizzy that day. I felt a little disappointed but tried to forget about it. The next day on Sunday, I thought i can try then, or since I need to get more art supplies, I can try going to the art store. The art store is a little farther than the groceries but I was sure it would be less crowded because everyone will be buying their bbq gear at the grocery. So I decided to push myself to go to the art store because I was still very scared again. I told my support person I probably wont make it so I can put the pressure off if she was expecting I can. But guess what? I made it in. It was really quick though and not a lot of people there but i didn't feel anxiety and I checked out by myself. I felt really happy after and the nervousness was gone. I just wish I can feel this way every time I DO the exposure not after it's done.

Yup, and it can be healthier too, well, less gas wasted if it's from local places.
I think anxiety can make us smarter and creative like that. New strategies, new adventures.
