Well; I called the new job offer and voiced my concern about there being no health benefits, and they offered me another dollar an hour. Now it'll be about the same money, no long drive to work (much less money on gas) and less stress. I also know I can find benefits on my own or through them. I took the job and gave notice to my stressful job today. It'll be nice to work in the natural food industry that I have spent a lot of my life learning about. I will also have more time to spend training people in fitness, once I get some clients. Thanks for the kind words, David

Hello David, I think it id great how you are starting to do things you feel are more coherent for you in your life. I also think it is very thoughful of you to consider your wife's happiness in all this. I was wondering how your wife feels about your new job offer? Does she really think she will have more stress if you take it? And the new job would it make you happy? As a Wife, I know if my husband could get a job he liked and that could be a stepping stone to where he wants to get in life, I would want him to take it even if it meant a bit less money and such. But I think the best thing you can do is validate things with your wife. Talk to her and figure it out with her. I think that between the two of you, you can make a decision that will be good for both of you. Once again congratulations on all the great successes and taking so many positive steps in your life :) -Diva

Thanks for all the kind words. I made it through the day and even went on a job interview tonight. I did have to take 5mg valium before work. My wife made me. Valium really does the trick when you need a few hours less stress. It calms you just enough to be able to get straightened out and then you do not even need it for a while, sometimes. So back to the job interview. It would be working at a health food store, which I have experience in. I do not and never belonged at the job I am currently working. TOOOOO Stressssful. I freak out on weekends worried that when I go in on Monday that a mistake will be found on one of the jobs/web sites I did on the Internet and then it sets off my anxiety. Yyou know how that goes... The new job would be about$1.00 less an hour to start, but it is also in the same town where we live. That would be about $100 less gas a month or more. I drive about 30 minutes to work each day. This job would be 5 minutes and no highways. There also would not be any benefits, but I could buy my own. My benefits basically suck anyway. They pay like 20% of my dental once totalled and about 80% of doctor visits, but I only go once or twice a year. I just had a crown done on my tooth and I felt like the IRS was the one doing the job once I saw the bill and later the extra I had to pay after the insurance refused to pay another portion. I also have the fitness training I am going to do on the side. I just have to get it started, I have only been certified a little over a month, so I need not get discouraged. I am going to start giving cards out and also Anyway, anyone have any thoughts? Less stress is very important to me, but so is less stress for my wife. I do not want this to worry her if I switch jobs. But I have promised to get a part time job in addition until I find my niche with the fitness training. David

wrestler, Firstly, congratulations on becoming a trainer. You have worked long and hard for this and you should be proud! Use your resources in your current job and find that back-up. It will help make sure all items are done and completed properly and in a timely matter. Asking for help is being positive and pro-active! Use the program to challenge those thoughts and move forward. Your perseverance is evident and you can do this :) Josie, Health Educator

Hello; First the good news. I am now a Certified Fitness Trainer. Since my last post, I completed my studies and took the test. I am really happy about it. Now the hard part comes of finding my ideal job in the industry. That's a bit stressful because I have already paid the city and county about $125 just to get licensed as well. I've been applying for jobs at gyms and I am trying other areas of the field. I also want to get one-on-one clients. It's always been a dream of mine to do something in fitness. Now I made it happen. I have also been feeling really good, for the most part. I have not needed much of my Valium either the last few months. But I may need it this week because this week is when I have to shoulder a lot of work at my job. I work for a travel company and we handle requests that come in, and come in, and come in via email. It basically never stops all week. Some requests are easy and take a few minutes; some take over an hour. Some days are harder than other days. There's sometimes 50 things in the email when I first start work. I'm usually very slow at it and fall behind. It's a lot of computer work and I sometimes get flustered. My wife has been doing her best to help keep me calm, but I am sometimes my own worst enemy. It builds up in my mind and then I get anxiety over it, and yesterday it led to a small anxiety attack while we were shopping. The last time I did this job it was in the middle of January and I did OK then, but needed some backup. I got it. But now our department has become really busy and I am not sure who my backup is this week. Anyway, I am glad I came here today to vent my frustration with my job. Hopefully it won't be my job for much longer and I find something I like. I would welcome any suggestions that might help me cope with this. I know I will make it and do well, but I still get overexcited about it. Thanks, David
