coj,

At this point, the Activity Tracker is a print only option. They are this way because you should be bringing them with you and filling them soon after the activity has taken place.

We're sorry if you got the impression that we are not understanding and are very appologetic. We don't have answers and solutions are not what we offer. We are here for support, an ear to listen. Please continue to use the program and support group it has proven to be very beneficial and we hope that you will feel comfortable progressing with us.

Hi coj,

There are some treatments for excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis.  Glycopyrrolate is a medication that can be used to assist with decreasing your sweating.  Iontophoresis units can also be helpful.  I would advise you against having surgery.  Often where you have the surgery results in an increase in sweating in other places, compensatory sweating.

See your doctor or better dermatologist to address your problem.  It is certainly contributing to your depression but there are some things you can do.  There are also webstites with this information, I can't remember the address but if you google hyperhidrosis plenty of information will come up.

Hope this helps - and don't give up here, there are plenty of caring and understanding people here.

good evening coj.

welcome to the site.  I am sorry that you did not get the exact response you were looking for.

I was first diagnosed when I was 19 with a major depressive episode. and have been up and down since.  So I finally requested a full diagnoses and I found I am bipolar.  So that explains the reoccuring depressions that put me out of functioning for so long.

I can understand when you feel the need to be away from the stimulus of the office to get your your done. Depression is an illness that takes up a lot of our energy.  And to feel apart and isolated is something that we all share here.   Part of the program is to look at how we look at situations and see if we might judge them more positively ... for our better health.

Coj,
I am have an anxiety disorder so most of my days are filled with worry.  the past 20 years one of my symptomes was a profuse sweating, and that stress sweat that stinks.  So I would wash compulsively and it got to the point of using 4 different soaps a day with a good hard brush for the morning and evening showers.  I was often a bright red (irritated) colour and still never clean enough ... darn odour causing bacteria.

i do know how you feel.  I really know hard it is to face people and smile every morning.  Worring, hiding in my corner, never knowing when someone would hurt me by saying what I felt.

Coj.
I have had to learn to come to terms with the person I am, the way my body works, and the way people understand me.  I cannot change society.  I cannot transplant my soul into another body.  So I have had to find a bunch of friends and work though my issues.

coj.
I did not respond to your first posts because I am long winded and wordy and chat way too much ... as you get to know 'my voice' you will see that I am "a good egg" but I think that I might scare new arrivals ... like the ugly big aunt asking for hugs as everyone walks in the door at the holidays.  As you read and post issues and inquiries in the other subjects you will see me pop up a little all over ...

Just to clarify, I do shower everyday, before leaving the house in the morning and often again after work. But unfortunately, I can't shower or bathe at work or out in public. The sweating seems to be a nervous reaction to certain situations and it happens out of nowhere. Then I feel uncomfortable because people can see sweat on my clothes and it doesn't look very nice, especially in an air conditioned office in the summer in office attire. As I said, the more I worry about it, the more I sweat.

Karen I believe you are talking about the mood tracker, not the activity tracker...They seem to be different and the activity tracker does not have a "create entry" button available to click on.

I guess I have come the wrong site. I was looking for understanding, not a solution. But I guess there is no one out there.

I have given up on this site, but thanks anyway.

Coj,

Welcome to the Depression Center and thank you for sharing your story with us.  There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

Check out our Depression Program and the many tools available to assist you with understanding and combating your depression.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.  If you have any questions about the program tools, feel free to contact us at support@depressioncenter.net.

About the problems with perspiration, frequent warm baths or showers can help dispel the perspiration.  Members have you experienced similar problems?

The activity tracker form is fillable, may be saved, and the results reviewed/changed; just click on "Create entry" to fill out the forms (remember to save your results), click on "Your notes and medication usage" to review your results and click "Daily results" to view your progresss in graph form.  Hope this helps.

Please continue to browse the forums and contact us if you have questions or require feedback.

Hope to hear back from you soon,

Hi

I was diagnosed with depression about 2 years ago. I didn't really think I was depressed at the time, but friends urged me to see a doctor, so I did. He put me on meds and I began to feel better after a while. I have been on  them ever since but still eperience episodes of depression even while taking them. It seems to come and go (I can recognize the symptons now that I know what it is like to feel better). I have been "sinking" again lately even though there are some positive things happening for me. The worst part for me is at work. I feel like no one likes me and they are all talking about me. It affects my performance at work because it is all I think about. For 2 weeks I have shut myself in my office and have not made even small talk with anyone, and no one has asked if I'm okay or anything. They are all just avoiding me, which is fine because I don't want to talk to them anyway. But more than that, I have been having problems with perspiration...under my arms especially, and I know the more I worry, the more I perspire, but I can't seem to stop it. It starts happening anytime someone approaches me at work, or sometimes in stressful situations at home or even while doing things I enjoy. I've had this problem since I was a teenager, but when I realized it was controllable, it went away, but now it is back. It is affecting everything I do now. I don't want to go anywhere, because I am embarrased with the big wet spots on my clothing. It's uncomfortable and I think people back away from me due to odor. My fiance assures me that there is no odor, but I find that hard to believe. Does anyone else experience this?

Sorry for being so longwinded, but one more question...are we supposed to print the activity tracker to use it? It doesn't seem to be interactive or "fillable". I would like to fill it in on the pc if possible but can't figure out how.

Thanks
