Hi Julie!
To burn fat you need a low to mid intensity workout but for at least 20 minutes. Even a good walk will do. PS I hate stationary bikes I prefer walking it is far better for my mood.

Hi Diva!
30 minutes... ehm Shopping! or a good walk in the park.

Diva,

Pick some where you want to go!
Grab an ipod, mp3 or walkman to make it more interesting
Go with a friend and chat!

Making it fun will make it bearable and enjoyable!

I am trying to get myself to do 15 minutes of walking a day. My goal is 30 minutes in the long run. Am having trouble though. Got suggestions?

Sounds good Julie............working out for a set number of minutes may work better for you than concentrating on mileage.  The key is to be physical and active and feel like you have worked out at the end. Exercise is also important to maintain positive mood because it releases endorphins and other neurotransmitters that are essential to a healthy mental state.

Hope you have managed to put together a manageable routine............let us know how it's all "working out"

HI Rose 306

Yes a stone is 14lbs.

The bike is stationary and I do put music on which usually helps but it's just getting on the bike. Not been on it yet since my last post was feeling better but took me a while to drag myself out of bed today. Maybe after this I could go on it lets face it I'm in, its warm and I'm getting fat. Think I'll aim to do time instead of milage see if this makes a difference.

hi julie, is it a stationary bike? if so, plop it in front of the tv and peddle away to your favorite show. if not, you could easily bike 3 miles in 20 minutes or so. it would take me about 70 minutes to walk it. the thing is to just do something every day to get your blood pumping and your brain cleared out. those weekend warriors who push themselves end up with injuries. slow and steady wins the race. good luck julie......btw is a stone 14 lbs?
