Hi banjogal I can't imagine being in your shoes. I (and probably many people here) perform the "happy person coping ably with life" role most days to avoid that blank look you mentioned, but I don't think that puts me in your boat (or even on your lake) so I'm not sure how much wisdom I can offer you. Just make sure that you make time to look after yourself. Your world and your life events sound so emotionally taxing that I'm surprised you're still functioning -- recognize this and be good to yourself. And talk, write, scream or whatever gets your feelings outside of you. If the public aspect of your work makes this difficult, you've found a safe and supportive group here. I'm not a huge fan of medication, but many people find it helps immensely, so if you've never talked to your doctor about how you're feeling it would probably be a good idea to do that. He/she may be able to refer you to a therapist, as well. Good luck

ban, Welcome to our community. The Depression Center offers personalized, interactive tools that have helped thousands of people challenge and overcome their depression. If you look to the left of the screen under "PROGRAM TOOLS" you'll find our Depression Test, Session Diary, CBT Buddies and our Depression Program. Why a Depression Test? The purpose of our Depression Test is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. What is a Session Diary? Your Session Diary is your Depression Program "Control Center." Your Session Diary contains all of your tools, worksheets and results as you move through each of the 16 Sessions in the Depression Program. Online Support? CBT Buddies? Our CBT Buddies and Online Support Group allows you to have some anonymous assistance when dealing with depression. The CBT Buddie and Online Support Group is offered on a 24-hour basis and allows you to communicate with others like you around the world. CBT? The core of The Depression Center is our Depression Program which is an interactive, 16-session cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)course. When using cognitive behavioral therapy, each person has unique goals in their treatment. Whatever your motivation, cognitive behavioral therapy is a very effective treatment for depression. You can use the tools whether or not you are taking medication, and whether or not you are currently seeing a therapist or mental health professional. The Depression Program has a number of tools and resources to help each individual overcome their depression and win. We hope you find the help you need within The Depression Center. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding our site or with depression please click the "CONTACT US" link at the bottom of the page. We're open to any questions or concerns you may have. i've never been diagnosed. i'm sure i have recurring issues with breakdown / depression. i am a performer, and the pressure one faces as a public figure with depression is almost unbearable at times. anyone else in the same boat? have experienced sadness of suicide, break-up, more death and other intense and sickening family stuff in the last few years and am sick of being crippled by it all. scared recently as i know there's another wave coming on. black is descending. anyone got tips on grief? its nice to be open about experiences without the blank look you get from people who have never felt this way... just thought i'd spill it and say hello...
