Paper management and OCD

I'm a counter. I count things, I always have. But not for any reason. Like I never counted the trees I cut down. I was paid by volume not count. It is just something to do, more distraction than anything.

A former supervisor once pointed out how company employees were inefficient, and sent things in circles.  An example was paper on desks, which went from one spot to another spot, and eventually in a circle.

I'm only beginning to notice how I  like to count.  I like to notice license plates too, but I don't think it has much to do with being irritated with their poor driving.  It's more likely to do with me.  Part of it has to do with my previous job, which included recording things, and I miss that.

Does anybody have these quirks, or would like to comment?
