How do I quit something I started when I was 15!! HELP!!

Windy...I to smoked for over 20 years ...started when I was 16...I hear you and feel for you as I am sure 99 % of the people on this site do. It is not going to be easy ...main thing is to take every day one at a time and not worry about tomorrow next week or next month...tell yourself "today I won't smoke"..and don't. Use this site and your Family and Friends when you get to the breaking point...it comes down to you knowing you have to quit...and we all know the reasons...so if not now WHEN? Believe in yourself ...you can do it! ...so you might be a little depressed or anixious for awhile ..that to will pass. Good Luck and Hang in there ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/11/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 551 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,621 Amount Saved: $1928.5 Life Gained: Days: 81 Hrs: 22 Mins: 50 Seconds: 27

Gratitude

Riverdale Man...good post ...I am grateful for my Wife & Daughter who love and support me...the rest of my Family and Friends...My dog who is always happy to see me...even if I just went to the store and back ;)...I am grateful to wake up in a Country that every day I don't have to fear for my life or the life of my Loved ones...I am grateful to have my health and food on the table each day! I am very grateful to all who helped and supported me in my Quit...it's the hardest thing I have ever done. HAVE YOU MADE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE?

I am on the other side and have been for awhile...my small piece advice would be never ,even when you have been smoke free for a long time, let your guard down...never let yourself get in a situation where you convince yourself " I have quit so if I just have one smoke or one drag while I am out with my Friends having a beer I'll be ok...I've got it beat!...Wrong it's the Nicodemon trying to drag you back across to the Dark side ...so Luke don't you go there ;p Remember... "TODAY I WILL NOT SMOKE" Cheers, X -Smokey the Bear My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/11/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 593 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,121 Amount Saved: $2075.5 Life Gained: Days: 88 Hrs: 3 Mins: 22 Seconds: 46
