Hi everybody
Well I'm into Day 3 and hanging in there. Made it through Day 2 without too many hitches. I did have an urge to buy a pack of smokes last night when I was at the movies but I talked myself out of it. I kept saying NOPE. It's a catchy little saying.
I hope Day 3 will ease through. I've got to have a positive attitude to make it easy.

Yeah, Azure. I watched people standing outside last night having a smoke. I sure was glad it wasn't me. It was cold out there last night.
I'm having a terrible craving right now and I hope it goes away in a while. Decided to come here and get some positive reinforcement. It's great.
I've been craving sweets. Is that part of the quit?

BTW, I'm going over to my friend Betty's place tomorrow after supper. Going to have a few drinks. Looking forward to that and it will be my reward. Drinking doesn't trigger my cravings...it lessens them actually.

Hi AlphabetJ
Good to see you here with us. Quitting is well worth it. I just passed my craving a little while ago and I'm sailing smoothly again. It comes in waves and you have to prepare yourself for them.
I was on Chantix but it made me sleep 24 hours a day. Couldn't handle it...so I'm on the patch now and I'm doing ok with it. Still have those cravings but they're not as severe as before. It's getting easier. It will get easier for you too. Good luck on the Chantix.

Hi AzureinBarrie
Welcome aboard. I'm on day 3 now and almost completed it. I smoked for over 40 years. It sounds like you're determined to quit and that's half the battle or more than that.
I'm on the patch so I'm still getting nicotine in my system but very little so I'm getting a lot of cravings but I'm fighting them off. We can do this together Azure and we can stay in touch and support each other. This is a great place for support and encouragement...the people here are wonderful.
Hang in there my friend.

Hi goofy
Thanks for your support. I'm on the patch so I'm still getting nicotine in my system but very little and getting cravings frequently but I'm fighting them off one by one. It's getting a little easier. I think having been quit for 10 days not too long ago has helped. It's more psychological for me than anything else as far as I'm concerned. The addiction is a mindset so to speak. Just got to change the frame of thought which I'm working on. I'm looking forward to Day 4.

Hi everybody
Well, this is Day 5 and I'm really struggling. There seems to be no end to the cravings. I'm just besides myself because of it. I don't know how long I've got to keep on going like this. I have an urge to smoke and I'm trying hard to talk myself out of it.
I went off the patch again, trying to see if it will help and plan on drinking lots of water. I'm chewing on my stirrer stick like there's no tomorrow.
I'm hoping things will ease off a bit. Need a breather.

Welcome AJ
It takes time for one to accomplish what we set out to do, but it can be done. Good for you for quitting. Chantix didn't help me but it has helped others tremendously. Keep up the good work.
